The Holidays
Writing or Not
Did some traveling in December for Christmas. Visited family (my kids and grandkids!) and friends in New England. This interfered with my writing a little. I finished my end of year blog post, but that’s it as far as writing goes. Generation Zee hasn’t moved forward at all. I need to get back in the fiction writing groove. To be honest, I’ve been writing my Substack newsletters just about exclusively.
Prior to that my thoughts were all on Christmas presents - can the kids actually give me a list so I know what to buy?! Obviously not. Plus travel preparations, then after we arrived, my major concentration was on wrapping the presents and panicking about the presents that didn’t arrive until Christmas Eve! I’m sure I could have found time to write but yet I didn’t. But it’s now a new year and I will be getting back into writing at a much more regulated pace.
I really don’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions. But I do believe in plans and goals. So my plan is to write regularly (I will set up a time table in my spreadsheet to get organized). And my first goal for 2026 is to finish Generation Zee. Second is to continue posting the serialization of Water Earth: Rhia. (I have gotten some good feedback on what’s been posted so far, so please continue reading and let me know how you like it.) Once it is finished, my next goal is to work on Secrets in Slacksville - finding a supernatural element to incorporate into the story. Of course, Water Earth is a continuing project - it is already written (for the most part) and it just needs a little editing before posting each one half to one chapter).

Beyond those three projects, my goals entail writing twice a month to my Syloquies blog, and twice per month to both Writing Whispers and Eating Gluten Free - the Good, Bad and Sometimes Ugly. That seems like plenty of goals to have for now. What do you think?
My next post here in Writing Whispers in two weeks will be another installment from Water Earth: Rhia. I hope you enjoy!
