HOT OFF THE PRESS: General availability of the new Microsoft 365 E7: The Frontier Suite on May 1 for $99 per user 🚨
Today Microsoft announced the first Frontier Suite built on Intelligence + Trust, introducing a new approach to bringing AI agents, productivity, identity, and security together in one platform.
At the centre of this announcement is Microsoft 365 E7: The Frontier Suite, which brings together:
• Microsoft 365 Copilot
• Agent 365 for governing and managing AI agents
• Microsoft 365 E5 security capabilities
• Microsoft Entra Suite for identity and access
• Defender, Intune, and Purview protections across users and AI agents
The goal is simple but powerful: enable organisations to move from AI experimentation to enterprise scale, where agents operate alongside people, but within the same governance, identity, and security framework.
Two things stand out to me:
➡️First, Agent 365 introduces a control plane for AI agents, allowing IT and security teams to observe, manage, and secure agents just like they do with users.
➡️Second, the multi model approach to Copilot, including support for models such as Claude and next generation OpenAI models, signals a future where organisations can use the best intelligence for each task.
For security leaders, this is particularly important. As AI agents begin executing real tasks across business workflows, identity, governance, and observability become non negotiable.
🔹AI is no longer just an assistant.
🔹It is becoming part of the workforce.
🔹And that workforce needs to be secured.
