I hope everyone is doing well, adjusting to another Star Date Entry. Seriously, 2026 sounds like something Captain Kirk would have entered in his ship's log.

The Round Robin is looking good, so thank you to the writers who are crafting this story. If there's a way to get Solo and Kuryakin into a sticky situation (wink wink), this story can do it. You can catch Chapter 1 HERE and Chapter 2 HERE.

We'll commence with our regular challenges beginning in February, so I hope there will be much writing going on in 2026.

Speaking of February, our first year as a communty was 2012, and this page has the entries from that month. HODOWE, Holidays of Dubious Origin Writing Event started things out in a big way with many writers and stories to get us off to a terrific start. I hope you'll take a look at how we began and what it looks like to have such riches on our pages.

Today we can still be thankful and keep our minds and mouths on that which encourages and nourishes our souls and that of those around us.

As we head into December the calendar won't be a burden, we can catch up on any prompts you'd like to tackle and, with Christmas in mind, there will be open posting for your new or old favorites, yours or someone else's stories that are centered around the season.

Also in the spirit of gift giving, please post some favorite photos of the Men from UNCLE. It's a gift that does indeed keep on giving.

It's been a slow week here on Section VII, not so much in real life land. Is it raining where you are? Even as I type it's raining and has been raining and we expect it to rain some more. It isn't unwelcome or damaging, but it's very wet and a bit chilly.

Previously the topic of the Christmas Round Robin was put on our virtual table, however I've made no progress on getting it here. With the month winding down I'm wondering if there is enough interest in going forward with it. I do realize that some people don't commit until they see the prompt, which is understandable. If you think you could participate just check it off here... and thank you.

A Little Bit of Baseball... Dodgers and MFU

This story is from Gina Martin, or GM. She wrote some stories with real life references; The Beatles, John Lennon, Disneyland and the Dodgers. Concerning the latest World Series win for the Dodgers, this seemed like a natural choice for some baseball/MFU fun.

I will admit that I was rooting for the Dodgers, having grown up on SoCal baseball. The fact that the game was incredible and the players on both sides just absolutely heroic, I'm happy to pay tribute to the sport via our UNCLE spies.

So what episode gave you a few giggles back in the day? Admittedly humor wasn't the primary goal of the series, but we know there were some moments.

I did enjoy the Mad, Mad Tea Party Affair. It had a villain, of course, but it also featured this actress in a memorable performance opposite men who were becoming the hottest stars on television at that time.

The character is Kay Lorrison and the pics are from Lisa's Framecap Library.

Most of you probably already figured that out, it being Monday and all. I'll admit that every once in a while I do lose track of the days, those weeks when I don't have an actual plan. Right now my cat Precious is trying to interrupt my typing; I'm doing a lot of deleting to get through this.

We've just finished up 7 Days of Halloween, the homage to past stories and just ahead of the actual day. Anyone dressing up like Angelique?

This week you can hopefully do some writing, including the Short Affair, PicFic and A Little Drabble Do Ya. I'm still in catch up mode, but will hopefully have something to show for the time and the prompts we've been laying down.

Remember, a 'post by' date is a wish and a prayer sort of thing. In actuality we can post a finished story at any point after the prompt is given. We just like to have the appearance of order. Also, this is a GEN writing site so anything posted should be suitable for all audiences. HET stories can be posted on the Map Room.

Already it's Thursday, wow! Wednesday just blew right by me. You can still post a drabble if you had one or even if you have one today. The doors are always open for stories.

Personally, I'm just so happy that Fall is truly here. We're in the 70's and with the exception of one warm day (with rain predicted), next week we're down into the 60's. I have one little tomato still hanging onto the vine and trying to ripen... I'm not optimistic. This year's gardening was not a success.

Don't forget there's a PicFic still out there waiting for us to write its story. If you missed it, here it is. It's a 1000 word minimum, based on the photo (literal or metaphorical ;) Think Gen, UNCLE and our duo of spy heroes.

Don't be a rotten apple, write a story!

UPDATE: The 1000 word limit is being changed to the maximum number of words. So your story can be literally a 'short affair" as long as it doesn't exceed 1000 words.

Given this is a weekly writing challenge, it should make it easier to come up with a story.
