Birthdays and Hookers - Yup, a typical header

Sooo...I'm presuming I'm unloved because lj wasn't showing my birthday to my lj friends. At least I hope that's the reason why. So I'm going to forget about pride and see if this post prompts anyone to give me birthday humps.

Well, I think I saw my first ever male hooker yesterday. At first I thought it was slightly thrilling, and thought about all those wonderful hooker!fics I have read. But then I looked closely and really thought about the real life implications.

This kid - and he was a kid, was all alone. In the cold. In the big city with presumably all his possessions in the one bag he had near him. It's very heart-breaking to think that he will be taken advantage of, most likely by sleazy old men.

I could be wrong, and I hope I'm wrong, but I was told that the area we, quickly, went through was notorious for all sorts of shady dealings.

*cries* I think I'm going to feel guilty for reading hooker!fics now...at least for a little while. *sigh* I have no shame.
