About Me
Hey, I'm Kate! My journal is a mix of my own life and my fandoms, and for the most part public. I've been meaning to seriously work on my original fiction for a long time, yet rarely make that leap. I tend to be rather whimsical and spastic, and I laugh at the things that everyone else thinks are lame. Off the internet, I'm an introvert around people I don't know and an over-the-top extrovert around those I do. I love bright colors, shades of grey, sunshine, and rain. The loves of my life are two golden retriever/Gordon setter dogs, Lily and Kara. The word 'kumquat' makes me smile, though not for the reason you might think. My musical tastes span nearly every genre, and I have a penchant for anything from India.
Fandoms
My oldest fandom is Harry Potter, though I've dabbled in many others. I'm a compulsive beta who signs up to write for too many challenges and then wonders why she has no spare time. Although I write primarily het and gen, I’ll read anything and everything – it’s hard to squick me. My favorite characters are, in no particular order: Tonks, Snape, & Hermione from HP; Abby & Gibbs from NCIS; Edward & Bella from Twilight; Kate & Sawyer from Lost; Jack & Elizabeth from PotC; and Roger from Rent. I’ve always liked short-story anthologies, which actually prompted me to get into fandom. My favorite TV shows are NCIS, Lost, Scrubs, and The Simpsons. All the movies I enjoy would take a page and a half on their own, but a few are Chocolat, Pirates of the Caribbean, Rent, and Monty Python & the Holy Grail.
Friending
I have a tendency to friend someone for any one of a myraid of reasons, then forget to comment and pop in a week later with an odd comment. Apologies if I do this to you; I'm notoriously awkward at introducing myself. Friends are nice, no need to ask. ♥
