It's really depressing me more people aren't trying to educate themselves about the big shake-down in Iran. Last night I had no idea about any of it -- they only watch Fox News at my grandma's and I'd rather have no news -- I've spent all morning reading about it. It's fascinating, horrifying and makes me feel angry and helpless. I've been keeping a few Twitters on F5 and reading BBC news and it's just ... everything going down is amazing on many levels. Amazingly horrible and amazing to see the waves of people standing up for their rights, protesting.

Another thing making me disgusted is how I imagine America's reaction to this. And by America, I generally mean people in my real life and area. So many people I know will take the road someone did on the comments of an article I saw, which was doubting the validity of the bloggers and that most of it is propaganda. While it's true some of the Twitter updates are being set up by security to spread false info, apparently, some of the apathy and disinterest and ignorance I've seen really reminds me of what I'd get in my real life if I tried to set up a conversation with anyone about this. People don't care because it's "dem Arabs" and even though it's people of my generation trying to bring about change to their country, it's over there, it's out of sight. People say, "yeah, that's crazy" and move on.

A fascinating perspective is how technology is playing a part in all of this. How sites like Twitter are being used to relay information. It really shows the sign of the times in the world and for some reason, that's the part I'm focusing on the most. It's just really interesting to me that connections can be made like this via the internet.

okay so, like for all things considered, my opinions since I started watching Gundam have changed a lot. characters I lost interest, some grew on me and some at last minute I really changed my opinion of. celemna & I started out hating Lyle so much but by the last two episodes ... he just started to change for me. And that changed my opinion of his relationship with Anew. I don't really consider it so strange and out of left field. At first I was like, "Wow, they just met, already in bed together and they barely even know each other, especially for him to be saying he loves her." But as we talked, this was no more! I've realized they just found each other in a strange place and even though they only knew each other for a few months, had a profound impact on each other's lives, for what little there was left of hers. It's not his fault he fell for a pretty girl and it's not her fault she was an enemy. They got each other.

need the monies

well, I replaced some art supplies and realized I need ... the monies 8D I have done this 3 times and this is 4th time and I've had a blast and a challenge doing it each time. last time was ... last October, which is longer than I thought, about 4 1/2 months ago. I decided I had well enough free time to do this again.

I'm only doing this for people on LJ for several reasons I really don't want to get into, but if you want to pimp this to your friends, feel free! Just not off of LJ, please :)

01. The drill is the same. For $7 Paypal'd to me, I'll send you one large postcard with whatever you want drawn on it in a number of styles. Expect it snail-mailed to you within 2 weeks. If it's a gift for someone and needs to get there sooner, I will.
02. Fill out the form with necessary info. The comments are screened. Please only comment with replies to the commission drive, it keeps things clean :)
03. New thing: please consider the size of the postcard and the medium I'm working in and try to bear in mind that I can't draw anything incredibly complicated/huge group shots. just use your judgment and try to envision it on a large postcard.
04. New thing: for $12 I'm willing to do full-page commissions of one/two characters, also mailed to you. no pressure, just if you'd like a bigger canvas than a postcard.
05. Examples of what I'll do are below the cut. I won't do porn/anthro. I will do fandoms not my own/OCs, with very thorough references.

over the summer I did in index card drive, where I drew one piece of traditional art for you for $5 and mailed it to you. with varying degrees of success ... nearly everyone got their picture, the money went smooth, but there were snags. I had to replace supplies and the shipping was way more than I intended. about 25% of the money I made. and I learned that giving myself such a short time frame was dumb. I said I'd finish them all in a week and it ended up taking about 3. also back then I less comfortable with traditional media and I've been working in more than digital lately. so money, time and skill are covered and I cannot think of any problems that may crop up. I just transferred $20 my bank account which should arrive Monday [I have some things to buy] and if I cannot locate my surplus cards from last time I'll buy them, so Monday is the "start date".
