Make (5) sashings and press to the rectangle. Although it may seem odd to sew like fabrics together, it will help you keep the blocks straight. Because you are pressing the sashing seams in opposite directions, the blocks seams should just touch each other at the intersections. That helps lock them together, which keeps the quilt top lie flat.
