Sorry for the lack of updates, I really do suck in that regard so hope you're all doing well - although many of you have me added elsewhere. Nothing really has changed to keep you up to date with - job, parents etc.

Doing some blogging and reviewing to build that up.

I'm going to attempt to think of random things to post here about, but yes. Mostly? I'm alive. how are YOU? Each and every one of you.

I've had enough.

I'm spending all my time applying for jobs, i think last count between sessions at the job centre was 20+ - thats a two week period.

Noone gets back to me. The JC continues to 'try to help' while also being a soul sapping place. I then get my parents on my back about when am I going to get a job. Only its not always when am I going to get one, its when am I going to look for one as well apparently. I'm ridiculously fucked off right now.

-I'm too experienced for normal retail, shelf stacking and secretarial - or so I'm told.
-In management I don't have the titles despite doing the job for the last company i worked for for what seemed like an eternity. No I did the higher job, for the lesser wage, no promotion, what a waste of time that was. I LITERALLY single handedly kept that department of that store in the black. For nothing.
-I'm a GOOD writer but dont have an agent or the ability to sell myself properly for novel writing.
-Also in writing and photography I don't have the experience necessary so I don't even get a response in journalism.

I've applied for photography jobs, retail jobs, admin, clerical. I just don't know what to do anymore and i don't know how to fix it.

It's been a year now. Almost to the day.

oh, ps. The Job Centre hasn't paid me this month.

Off to see LostProphets tonight with Karen.

At some point I should write a list of every gig/performance I've been to as I had only seen one live performance (by Kane) before I started seeing her. Needless to say, if you know her, you'll know that number has shot up over the past 5 years.

Looking forward to it.

So as my Ames said, I haven't been updating properly again.

So whats been going on.

Have spent the weekend with Karen, as is always nice and i feel sad when i dont get to. Since the weather has decided to go snowy on us again I'm glad we managed to get her here on Friday as she needed to leave early today.

Been a nice weekend which included a horribly failed raid on WoW, my first viewing of Scream - yes ever - and my getting to see The Circus performance by Take That on Karen's DVD.

As far as work goes, I appear to have been utterly ignored in my job application for Apple. This saddens me for a number of reasons and I guess thats just another step on my working career or lack thereof. As Karen and I discussed recently, any job that requires retail experience recently seems to be overlooking me despite the fact that I'm FAR more qualified and able than - in most cases - their entire staff. We decided this is because students/younger people can be manipulated, used and paid less. Me? Its looking like I need a management position if I am to go back to retail. In the meantime, web design jobs, admin, photography and writing jobs dont seem to show any interest due to no official experience. This I understand more, and is unfortunate.

Needless to say, this is somewhat depressing for me and I don't know where I'd be without my better half keeping me sane :) She truly is my rock.

I've set up various blogs to try and get me writing again. Even if its gibberish, which is why this place has been so quiet, as I feel only this type of update should be here. Many wont care what I'm doing with WoW or Final Fantasy, others wont want to see my icons or writing, so i figure if I write anything of note I can just attach the links.

And don't worry, when asked about leadership experience, I am not telling them about experiences as a guild leader ;)

I know this is totally irrelevant to those of you who dont play, but its about me as a person, and frankly its my lj, so hey :p

Tonights World of Warcraft has been somewhat epic in its fail.

First, have been a part of three groups that fell apart on a new boss in voa25. And by fell apart i mean people quit left right and centre.

So then a guild member decides they want to run Onyxia 25 man. This is risky, but what the hell, theres no other guild members on at the time of asking so i say go for it, organise a random group. Eventually we pull together the players and are ready to go. During this time he keeps trying to pass the leadership of this particular raid off on to me. Marvellous.

So its all going fairly well - despite the tanks dashing in and starting the fight before half the group is ready. We've managed to get the dragons health down to halfway, which was miraculous imho about how well this was going.

Then, someone randomly dropped group. This was odd, but they were gone. Nothing you can do. Then we all died horribly firey deaths.

Queue the QQ. 'Raid Leader is a noob' etc. Apparently because i didnt give them specific instructions this was my fault. Instructions i actually was typing when the tanks pulled. But apparently that was my fault too, for not stopping them. I hadnt even put the ready check up.

So everyone leaves, I feel bad etc. Bad enough yes?

No

Because now, one of the group decides he's going to private message (whisper) me and berate my inability and that im going on 'lists' for how crap i am etc.

How does all this relate to me as a person as i mentioned before?

I'm hit and miss with taking criticism, sometimes i listen sometimes i dont. But criticism when its something i wasnt prepared for, didnt ask for and didnt want? Thats something else. Am I wrong for feeling so put out by this?

Job Search

Dear oh dear. This is the worst aspect (joint i guess) of my life right now. Its so demoralising applying for so many jobs and hearing nothing. I'll keep plugging away but right now, anyone even mentioning it usually gets at best a glare or scowly response.

Family

My dads mother is still being the uber bitch. Theres moments when i'm actually getting claustrophobic from the phone ringing literally every five minutes whether its answered or not. And when its not her, its about her: The police, the healthcare, the social services. Do.Not.Want. I'm told to take the phone off the hook when they're not here but that in itself cuts me off and narrows my chances for the first part of this post. They fight ALL the time. Which of course comes through the chain of screaming after that.

TV

I've been a bad lad and not been catching up on my shows lately :( I should do that at some stage.
Myself and Karen have been watching Strictly week in week out, and no, I'm not embarrassed to say that :P Yay for Team Cola and their inspirational win. Yeah baby!

Karen

Five years. Kinda hard to believe. We had a nice night in with Champagne and dvds and stuff, exactly what it should be :) We've had a much better year this year and I'm so happy right now with this aspect of my life, more than I thought I could be. (Even if she's obsessed with Chris Pine and Gary Barlow *braces for bappage*)

Music

Miley gig was so much better than I was expecting tbh. I was slightly worried about going to see 'Hannah' but lets face it, thats not her anymore. The show was amazing and I'm actually kinda glad we've booked to see her in Manchester too.

Friends

Manchester means meetage! Which means Rick boy, and Ames and Zoda. All of which makes me very happy and means that we can have fun. I miss each and every one of them and I know Karen does too. (although shes never met Rick :P) It'll also be a couple of days off computer games ;)

World of Warcraft (for those who understand a word of the following :P)

Another example of my addictive personality right there ;) Our guild we started is still going fairly well, just a few annoyances with people leaving rather than helping to grow. My main character is now level 80 and fully tier 9 geared which is something I never thought I'd see happen. So yay for that. Its also given me some ideas for drabbling to keep myself in writer mode...

Writing

This is sadly an area I'm lacking in lately. I need things to do, inspiration, random nonsensica to scribble and type. So please if anyone liked or can think of any new Conversation Drabbles (cross fandom, if i know the character im willing to try: I want one from each and every one of you that knows what i watch/read etc!) Please try, I really do need the help.

And thats enough for now, someone'll think my accounts been hacked with all this ;)

Had quite a nice weekend all in all.

Went to see Up with Karen, which was as awesome as expected even if I'd already been spoiled on various aspects of it in advance. Loved the story, loved the voice talent, loved the music - loved the company i went to see it with :p

Other stuff, included watching SG1 as we've finally got Karen starting to boost through it again and Iron Man which lets face it is always going to be a great fun movie to watch :D

I spotted the new Star Wars novel while we were out too which my beautiful girlfriend has kindly ordered online to save me a bit of money.

See? I can update sometimes. :p

Ouch, I haven't updated in way too long.

To sum up, have been having a fully awesome time in terms of gigs, signings, flamingo land and photography.

I have been having a less good time in terms of money, jobs and family arguments mostly revolved around (but not limited to) my dads mother.

Most recent fun was had at Karen's cousin Jess' engagement party. More exposure to the family, and frankly a fun night :)

I promise to start doing real updates again.

BIRTHDAY!

Started awesomely with Rach texting (myspaceing, facebooking, etc...) Happy Birthday ASAP. Which made me smile lots. Meanwhile I was watching the fantastic Carpool Bobby Llew did with Chris Barrie which in itself would have made this entry cos thats that amazing.

My third Skullduggery Pleasant book arrived: This also is worth the happy as these books are way fun.

And then I got to spend a few hours and have takeaway with Karen :)

So lots of yayness for day 5 :D :D :D

Day 6

Will narrow this down to 3. (edited because i cant do that)

First: I passed my driving test! With just one minor fault! Fantabulous :D

Second: I went into Newcastle and got an event pokemon which is ace.

third and definitely not the least: I used the second one to try to surprise Karen, ended up having to tell her I was there but it was still awesome. So we went and had Starbucks and chat and yay.

ETA: Phonecall from Zoda wishing birthday happys and also congrats was very very cool.
