Welcome to my Categories note section of content. This page explains how I use and publish all the content on my main .com site in all the different categories.

Category Structure

If you are curious about the organizational structure of my blog, I might be a little shocked, but there actually is an organizational structure I have worked on for years and years. This page is here to explain how and why I chose what I did, and just so I have a reminder for myself to stay in my self-imposed lane for focus.

I originally set up my entire site into 6 main categories because I wanted to have a limited scope, or sandbox if you will, and I wanted them to reflect my life and how I try to live my life in the most general of terms anyway. This is to say, I hope this site realistically portrays who I am in real life, not just as an online persona.

Blog Category Divisions

These five main subjects pretty much encompass most of what I do, what I write about, what I and talk about, so I’ve stuck with this organizational structure for the better part of 20 years. The categories are:

Something that is organized outside the structure of my blog are my pages, which are a set of articles discussing specific topics, but that fall outside my blog structure. You can see a full list of pages on my site map.

The other structure semi-outside my blog structure are my Photo Albums. These are my collections of images I’ve published that are curated sets of images in specific genres. Until recently these were filed in projects, but WordPress has basically outdated projects/portfolios so these are now situated under the Category of Portfolios.

Info Pages

I’ve written an about page for each category that goes more in depth about why I picked these particular categories if you are interested read more…

I would love to hear how you organize your blog, is this something you do on your site? I will say the more history I developed on my site and the more information was added the more critical organization became, and I’m glad I started off doing this years ago.
