She\u2019d worked hard and put in extra hours to build a culture of teacher collaboration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a result, there was unity within the staff, and children\u2019s learning and engagement soared.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She was really pleased with the outcome.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2026But no one else seemed to notice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She brought the question to the Schools of Excellence community for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/schoolsofexcellence.com\/membership\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">owners and directors<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She kept reassuring us, \u201cI <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">am<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> happy! This is exactly what I wanted.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And then she\u2019d add, \u201cI just wish other people knew.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the experience of sharing her unseen efforts and the endurance it required to lead with impact (but without acknowledgment), was enough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She discovered she didn\u2019t need accolades from teachers or parents because she had a safe community and because the end result was intrinsically rewarding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I want to go deeper into the topic of winning in the dark\u2014the phenomenon of discreetly or invisibly achieving success and overcoming challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This week, I\u2019m unveiling the first episode of a three-part series on the Schools of Excellence Podcast about winning in the dark.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this week&#8217;s podcast episode, I\u2019m beginning the discussion with an exploration of the concepts of enoughness and worthiness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s common to hinge your self-worth on what praise and acknowledgment you receive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you achieve your goal, but no one notices, are you still satisfied?
