Postal Barcoder Max
We've updated Postal Barcoder Max to keep up with the latest postal changes, and made some software improvements. Here are the details. Note that each update includes all previous updates, so you only need to download and install the latest. Get the update. What’s new in Version 1.8.2 – January, 2026
Postal Updates:
- We updated the tray tags for First Class barcoded flats for a recent USPS sorting change that added 5-digit scheme trays.
- In the tracking tool, we added an explanation for when USPS returns "resource unavailable".
- Also in the tracking tool, we added information for when USPS reprints a barcode due to blurring of the original, which can result in no tracking information being available.
- When creating barcodes from a file, we made a change to allow the OEL line to have additional information and still be incorporated into the barcode properly.
- We fixed some minor bugs.
What’s new in Version 1.8.1 – August, 2025
Postal Updates:
- We updated tray tags and pallet labels for recent USPS sorting changes.
- On tray tags and pallet labels, replaced references to the "eVS" parcel shipping system with "USPS Ship" to conform to USPS changes.
- USPS has eliminated bundling for First Class presorted flats. As a result, there are no longer "Optional Endorsement Lines" (OELs) for that type of mail, so the question about OELs will no longer appear on the bulk/presort screen when First Class presort is selected.
- USPS has changed how some processing steps are reported in the tracking system, and those changes are included in this update.
- The tracking tool now detects whether the USPS Gateway is down when an "Access denied" response is received from USPS.
- We added a log to save the actual tracking responses from USPS to help us diagnose tracking issues.
- On the tracking screen, we increased the number of characters accepted when entering the Business Customer Gateway password.
- The software now sets the printer to the last printer used with the software, and whether portrait or landscape was chosen. In the Windows version, it also sets the last paper type used.
- On the single First Class mail barcode screen, we added a button to dismiss the "how many barcodes saved" message without waiting for it to time out.
- We fixed a bug where a header line in an Excel file could be read as an address and printed as a label.
- We fixed a bug on the single First Class mail barcode screen where leaving the top margin or left margin entries blank would sometimes not cause a warning, leading to a crash when the software tried to print the barcode.
- We corrected a bug where some tracking codes that were created on the single First Class mail barcode screen were not saved to the tracking screen.
- We corrected a bug where the barcode serial number on the single First Class mail barcode screen was increased when closing the screen, even if no barcodes had been created.
What’s new in Version 1.7.3 – March, 2025
Postal Updates:
- USPS has changed how some processing steps are reported in the tracking system, and those changes are included in this update.
- You can now print addresses on 2" x 4" label sheets when you are adding barcodes to a file of addresses. If you choose that label size on the print window, you will also have the option to include a return address and/or your indicia (aka "postage paid" box) on the label.
- We added a help button on the print window.
- We corrected a bug that sometimes caused text to be scrambled on the screen for creating single barcodes for First Class mail.
- We fixed some other minor bugs and improved the wording of some messages.
Thanks!
