HELP

If you can make this sentence make sense, I'll give you cookies. It's from Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Chronicle of a Death Foretold. Of no vital importance...but it's been bugging me since I read it this summer.

"Most of all, he never thought it legitimate that life should make use of so many coincidences forbidden literature, so that there should be the untrammeled fulfillment of a death so clearly fortold."

It's the 'forbidden literature' part. Where the crack did that come from?
