Morris
Kim-Ling Morris’ work centres on finding connections between things through time and/or space. Her current weapons of choice are digital photography and recycled materials but the media she uses is chosen for its provenance. With her phone camera, she records moments when disparate elements of the universe seem to connect at the locus from where she views it. Such happenings are generally abstract – her photography contains contrasting textures and light, reflections, alignments, echoes, mirroring, colour blocks and repetitions. Her use of thermal print reflects the finiteness of the moment that has been captured and printed. She considers the origin, life-path and nature of her selected materials and recycled objects as integral to the narrative of her work.
