simpleMITs

simpleMITs is a web app for keeping track of your daily most-important-tasks—your MITs.

MITs are the two or three most important things you could do each day. If you do nothing else that day, at least you’ll have accomplished two or three important things!

Setting MITs is a daily practice. Every morning, review your lists, calendars, inboxes, and project boards, and write down two or three tasks to be your focus for the day. It’s okay to have four or five MITs, but if you have six or seven (or more), consider whether they really are the most important things you could be doing that day. Keeping your MITs manageable helps you be more productive.

No matter what else you do today, get your MITs done.

I use other work planning tools and practices, too, but setting my MITs every day has been—by far—my most effective productivity tool.

You can do MITs with paper, a white board, or any task manager, but I wanted a simple way to keep my MITs on my phone or computer, separate from everything else. So I built simpleMITs.

By design, simpleMITs is, well, simple. What you see is what you get. You don’t even need to log in; all your tasks are stored in your browser.

You can use simpleMITs for free or browse the code on Github.
