Ah Sam. That long middle. The pieces. The laces. The promises. The shores we will never reach. The metaphors. The feelings. The imagery. Your words open up doors we’ve all stood at. Doors we’ve all walked through. This human condition. This place called home. Few people make me want to just pick up a pen and start writing. You are one of them. Thank you for sharing your gifts here. Thank you for inviting me into my own skin.
Sam. Your voice /. A whisper floating in the air. That says it all so well Whether it’s a promise unkept or a loose shoe lace you seem to be reflecting not only on putting together the aftermath of a disappointment but a coming to the realities of a long life - that indeed takes reflection on a patchwork . I actually found your essay following the poem a study of reviewing one’s life deeply sincere.
Regards and warm wishes to you and others for time spent reconstructing the chapters of our lives
Captivating piece. I was drawn into the narrator's world with every word. I was mesmerized by the beautiful imagery, and the longing for childhood to return. It's a sentiment resonating with me as a reader. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this poem. Some great work here. Well done.
“The world doesn’t always fall apart loudly. “. This sentence within your explanation brought each word of your gorgeous poem into perfect framing. You did your work well my friend.

This is perhaps the greatest praise for a writer, and I am honored. Keep writing, my friend. Your words, too, are necessary in this world.
