Observations of the Finnish Meteorological Institute's lightning locator on a map of Finland.
The material is updated every 5 minutes. The map view can be zoomed and moved. The data of the National Land Survey of Finland are used as the map template. The interface language (Finnish or English) is selected based on the device interface language.
NEW: The snapshot can be saved with the screenshot function. Print, archive or share a saved image to your friends on Facebook, for example, via the Android image gallery.

TIME MACHINE
Did the thunderstorm last night or last summer? Choose the day you want and start the animation - the time machine covers all observations from 1998!
MY LOCATION
The app will search for your location and show it on the map. Your location will be updated automatically or manually, depending on your choice. New: You can also save your current location with the name you want.
SAVED LOCATIONS
Save the coordinates of places of interest to the application. You can also mark any saved location to be used as the starting point for the rangefinder.
DISTANCE METER
Touch the flash - the distance ruler tells you the distance to the lightning strike from your current location or any saved location!
SEVERAL MAPS
You can choose a map template or elevation map that is more accurate than the basic map template. You can also change the background color of the map and the color of the rangefinder to your liking.

Note: If you do not use GPS on your phone / tablet or it does not work, for example indoors, you may want to adjust the settings as follows:
Settings :: My Location Update Frequency === "Manually"
- This way your location is not shown on the map.
Settings :: Maximum flash alarm distance === "No alarm"
- This avoids unnecessary location search error messages.
