Hey all,

I think Mary kicked some motivation into me when she made the first move to make her post, I've been meaning to say this but I just haven't been able to put it on pen ~~computer in this case xD~~.

I will also be resigning from sakusei, this is not a move I was thinking of making two years ago and it's hard for me to do this even if I had originally gathered the girls to create sakusei, not that I take the credit of making sakusei an awesome community ~~That credit goes to the girls, not me xD~~.

And I haven't been updating much even if I still do make icons just not as frequently as usual because I don't have the inspiration to do so. And because I feel like having a fresh start, it was real fun being in sakusei and I've really bonded with the girls *hugs them* But it is time to move on and I need a fresh start.

But hey, look at it this way, this isn't the end. This is just a new beginning.
Isn't it incredible how I got this from watching Shugo Chara! xD

I don't know what the other girls are going to stay here or not but we will always be part of sakusei, regardless of where we are. And our friendship will always stay as a memory of the good times we had here.

Anyways, I will be posting icons at my new graphics community @ limebubbles soon because I think I have a few icons in my folder, not sure how many but we'll see. Feel free to watch it if you're interested in seeing my icons again. (Maybe another shared graphics community... *shot*)

Hey guys,

Wow, haha, I don't know how to start this. But let's get to the point. I've been thinking about this for weeks now. I'm resigning from sakusei It's not April Fool's, it's not a joke either. I haven't updated in a while and I don't find myself iconning animanga anymore. I know it's variety for sakusei, but I just haven't contributed here in a long time. (I've managed to pull off a layout for you guys, though.) It's not only me either but everyone else. The others don;t seem to have time and I don't either. I have other communities now and I'm aiming to see what I can accomplish individually. I also don't see the point in being part of a community that I'm not active in.

Thank you so much for sticking with me all this time. God, it's been how many years? Two? It'll be three by July. Just the thought is making me cry... Really thank you so much. These past two and a half years were fun. It was a lot of fun. ♥

Sakusei will forever be an important community to me. I will forever support it! I hope the others provide you guys with more shiny stuff :))

I usually don't post these kinds of things, but I heard through the grapevine about a recent hacking spurt (source). Apparently there is a person/group going around and hacking the Moderator accounts of large LJ communities. After hacking the Mod's journal, they go to the community and make a post with malicious links, disable comments, and delete all content from the community & mod's journal.

Very important news here, please take note of the details.
sakusei is a pretty big graphics community with lots of members and watchers and we clearly value the protection of everyone's information and computer privacy.

NONE OF THE SAKUSEI SISTERS WILL EVER CLOSE SAKUSEI.
I REPEAT, NONE OF US WILL CLOSE SAKUSEI. WE HAVE NO INTENTION OF DOING SO NOW OR FOREVER.

4) As always, Run a Virus/Antimalware scan on your computer (PC / Mac)

STEP 1. First, crop your base accordingly and make proper adjustments.

STEP 2. Then, duplicate your base and set it to Screen at 100%.

STEP 3. Next, duplicate your base again. This time, set it to Soft Light at 100%

STEP 4. OPTION 1. For a more colorful look, use a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer with Saturation set to +10.

STEP 4. OPTION 2. Merge all your layers. Duplicate your result and set it to Hue at 100%.

[MARY] Tutorial 12 | TVXQ GIF

A tutorial for my bb initials ~ She wants to know how to make .GIFS from movie files. And this one is the easiest when it comes to .avi ones :) It's how I make mine.

We're going to make this:

This tutorial was based on this one right here by AOI over @ the narutofan forum. But since the images are gone, I redid it (shorter version XD; i'm lazy) for my friend.

Warning: Image heavy! As in HUGE images.

What you need:
• VirtualDub -- it is my lifesaver. Like no lie. You can get it here for free.
• ImageReady -- it comes with Photoshop. So yes, you will still need photoshop for this.
• A .AVI movie file. That's it. It's the only one that works. If you want to convert files, I suggest downloading some converting program.
• A folder in your desktop -- this is where you're going to be putting the image sequences. Name it whatever you'd like.

Extract Virtual Dub, etc. open the program.

then go to File > Open video file

The movie opens into two screens, but that's okay.

Okay, first off, hahahaha I'm going to turn the stairs scene/thrust from DBSK's Golden Disk Award "Mirotic" performance |D I'm a perv. Lmao. But all I did was drag the box/arrow thing to the beginning of the scene and then i go to Edit > Set Selection Start and you'll see a blue line on the timeline.

Then I press the button to go a few more frames until we reach the end of the scene and then I click Edit > Set Selection End.

With that, you have selected your whole scene! The scene that you are about to make into a gif :)

Then you go to File > Save Image Sequence and under Directory to hold images you browse until you get to the folder you made before, and select it. That's where the .tga images will be placed under. So remember, the output format should be .tga! For the file name, you could put whatever you'd like. Then this window will pop up:

Let it finish. **take note that 200 or less frames are easier to edit with imageready. it doesn't take a long time, so keep it short.

Close Virtual Dub and open Imageready.

Go to File > Import > Folder as Frames and click on the folder with which you saved the frames into. And wait for it to load.

Now all of your frames are together in one .gif. Press play & give it a go. If you want to edit it. perhaps resize it if it's too big? or crop ? then do so! And if it's too slow, you might want to go through every other frame and delete them. (It tends to be really slow, so I delete every other frame on the Animation folder. :x)

I cropped mine so it's closer to the boys & I resized it 80%. (go to Image > Image Size)

Set the animation time to whatever you want & ta da~

To save it go to File > Save Optimized As and put in the file name and you're done :)

Editing & adding whatever to .GIFS take longer. This was just a brief tutorial on how to make gifs themselves.

Other Examples:

I hope that was helpful ~ you try & experiment with actually editing the .gif by pressing the "photoshop" button underneath the tools section 8) And have fun! .Gifs are time consuming, but they're really fun to make ♥ If you have any questions, ask! I know that was probably really confusing...

If your request has not been filled yet, please be patient as the girls are trying to finish them ASAP.

Yes folks, we're opening an official request post for all the girls of sakusei. This year, we're doing it differently as everyone is much more busier than we were a few years ago. The basic rules work the same as our past request posts but some rules have differed.
Please read them carefully and thoroughly :)

Rules and Regulations for Requests:
• First and for most, we will only take 3 requests at one time. Meaning, each sakusei girl will only be taking 3 requests at a time. Multiply 3 by 6 and you'll get 18. If all 18 slots are occupied then you'll just have to wait until it's vacant. :D We take reservations but please come back in 30 minutes maximum or your reservation will be given to someone else.
• Each member can only request one graphic from each icon maker. So all in all, you're only allowed to request one icon, banner, or whatever at one time from one of the girls.
• Anyone can request. :D Even the sakusei girls! So long as you don't request from yourself. (ha ha)
• You are allowed to request from 2 sakusei girls, maximum, at one time. Do not request one icon from each sakusei girl. That's just rude, mean, and greedy.
• You have to be patient. Patience is a virtue. We are making your icon, so please don't hurry us. We're trying our best to make it look nice and nice enough to your liking. So please do not rush us. Thanks. :D Some of us are also currently tackling school etc. We'll get right back to you when our schedule allows it.
• Do Not Hotlink please. :3 And Credit. 'nough said. If you violate those two major rules, then we have a very bad way of getting back at you. :3
• Try to clarify your request as much as you can so that your icon will turn out the way you'd like it.
• If you'd like the icon to turn out the way you want it, then we'd love for you to provide the image(s) for your icon, banner, etc.
• To make sure you read the rules, put your username in your comment before requesting. :]
• We will not be doing animation requests because it's too time consuming. We might reconsider next time. Nor will we be doing userinfo/layout requests, they're too time-consuming. But we will do layout/userinfo headers and wallpapers :) Just not the coding.
• Type the username of the sakusei girl that you'd like your icon to be made by. If you want examples, feel free to search the tags. For more info go to our userinfo.
• You must follow the form that is provided below:

What made you come together to make a community?
Megz made a post in her journal saying that she liked the idea of having a shared graphic community inspired by the girls at fukikomu and recruited people. Ran, Megan, Cassie, Nad and Mary joined forces and BAM -- sakusei (July 12, 2006)! Sakusei has been standing for two years.

How did you guys get the name?
We wanted a Japanese name to reflect our community. On the judgement of a poll, Sakusei ; さくせい meaning to create was chosen.

Since when have you girls started graphic making?
Ran: April 2005.
Megz: 2005. She was inspired by Bianca (estrella_blanca) and got PS 7.0 from her dad.
Cassie: 2005.
Nad: 2005. Got PS Elements 3.0 from her dad.
Mary: End of summer 2005

Can we affiliate?

Can we be sister communities?
Sorry but that title has a great meaning behind it and is only gained through special circumstances. ^_^;

THANK YOU! for the 400+ watchers. It's amazing... half of the time we're all pretty inactive, we're terribly sorry, but it's nice to know that there are still some out there who takes the time to watch us! :D Just so you know, it's appreciated, really.
