Blinking cursors and death mock us all

I've received a message recently that I should write, that I hadn't done so in a while and that it would help what I'm going through.

I've developed a fear of death that I've never really had before.

My Grandma passed away in January and probably two months later, just driving home with Paul, it just hit me hard that one day, I'll be dead too. And I became instantly scared and it hasn't fully left me yet.

I no longer have a strong belief system so I'm worried about an After, about what it entails.

I have to believe there's SOMETHING. Both for my own sanity to carry me through to the end, and because there's just SO MUCH unexplained spiritual things that everyone who experiences them can't be making it up or be hallucinating. There has to be someone or something.

But then sometimes I wonder what the point is. If we're going to die and go to an unsure fate, why put up with things? Also, what do I personally have to live for? I have no great things slated for me. What am I here for? To collect Ponies? To see how Night Vale will end? To watch stupid TV shows and movies? I've got very little going on in my life. I don't think I'm meant for very much else. I have little drive to change things, and my situation is stagnant.

I do have friends I care deeply about. I do love my boyfriend, Paul. I still care for Steve. I love my Brony friends and Granpa (even though I don't call him often, which is something I regret still about Granma).

I wonder about reincarnation and a next life. I'll probably not remember this one, as I don't have any conscious memories of any previous ones. And if somehow, there's nothing, well, then I won't be conscious of it so I won't know the difference either way.

I wonder if we create the afterlife with our energies while living. I wonder if atheists are people who lived so many lifetimes they're prepared to go into oblivion or meld with a greater being and not come back. I wonder if conservatives are people who get to the afterlife and realize how horrible they were, then go into their next life as someone they oppressed as penance and for clarity.

This is something I need to get over, as there is no cure for death. I'm going to die someday. We all are. I wonder if I'll be the first friend that dies. What would everyone say?

I'm not obese (I don't think), but I am overweight. As much as I'd love to be pretty and slim and healthy and live long, I want to eat way too much. I'm out of work today because I have stomach issues from a food I love that I apparently don't react to very well.

I once found a Sylvia Browne book years ago on the afterlife. Like, LITERALLY found it on the street. At the time I read it and cried and took it as a sign I'd be okay. Then I started to find out the falseness of many of her other aspects a few months later.

The thing is, a friend told me not to take stock in such books recently, but right after told me two elements that I recall reading in the book. So if anything, she may have had a gift and it became corrupted through her attempts to monetize it. Or a lucky guess.

I'm trying my best to just ride through with this. Its greatly confusing to me, and scarey. I guess all we can do is live in the moment and try to be decent people while we're here.

I swear I'm going to start writing more. You all still need to know about Paul and how I've been after breaking up with Steve.

See you soon. <3

Hello? Is anybody out there still?

Wow this is dusty! Has it really been that long? Over two years since my last update? I'm so sorry.

Seems like LJ died off vastly. I'm really bummed. Maybe people will slowly start to trickle back now that other places are getting too loud?

Anyways, I owe y'all an update. I'm taking this in bites. Right now I'm adjusting my <s>horizontal hold</s> profile to reflect some changes/updates/fixing how I spoke back then.

I've changed most my screennames from Steves_Minty to MintamenaPie for the most part. I couldn't on Etsy, and YouTube is a whole 'nother story I don't even...The MLPArena allowed me to change it but I need admin permission on the MLPTP and that's also a Story.

But I'm very active on my Twitter: https://twitter.com/MintamenaPie
and Tumblr: http://mintamenapie.tumblr.com/ Feel free to follow me there, just comment here first so I know who you are.

So who else is reading but doesn't update? What's new with you?

Steve and I are taking a break

I really can't say "broke up." It sounds so very final and I'm really not ready to say that.

But yeah. We're having some time not being together.

I love him so very much. I never ever thought someone would ever find me attractive. He does. For seven years we've been together and no one knows us as completely as we do,

I didn't want to do this.

But we are not where I wanted us to be at this point in our lives. I want to be his wife. We can't even live together right now.

This hurts so very much and I did not want to do this. I always imagined his face at the end of the aisle.

If I don't go now and see what else is out there, I could be stuck in this exact situation for another seven years.

I love him so much. He's saved my life. I swear I would have hurt myself long ago without his presence here.

I'm at a friend's place and am still distracted. They're making me feel so much better right now.

I hope I made the right decision.

I love him.

I never talked about AnimeNext, did I?

Lets play Summer Catch Up! XD

Firstly, I'm not going upstate in August. Kiera is spending the summer with her boyfriend down in NJ, and originally she was going to be back up in time for the local fair. Sadly, her grandmother passed away last month. She's been cremated, and they're having a memorial for her in Jersey two weeks or so after Kiera would have gone up anyway, so she's staying down there until then, and her family will just bring her back up. Its a bummer that she spent all this time down here and we weren't able to see each other. Maybe I can see them during the memorial.

I'm going to spend the next few days posting about what I've been up to. Let's go back to June with AnimeNext.

I left that Thursday night to meet with beechan2 and our roommates, all her pals. Awesome people, Jenn and Indira, and we were eventually joined by Indy's boyfriend Illya. Very fun people, it looks like I'll get to see Indy again at the NY comic con in October (more on that in a few days).

I took the Rainbow Dash cosplay, and as soon as I walked in on Friday to get my badge I got a call out! ^__^ And I found a Fluttershy and we called each others names and hugged!

SO many people recognized me and wanted my pics. As a fat brightly colored chick, that was awesome. Its my first full on not for Halloween cosplay and I'm so proud of the work we did, and everyone's reactions made me so happy!

I went to visit Bee in Artists Alley and found TWO Applejacks running booths! One was Wyndsilver from the message boards, and I ended up buying some Rainbow Dash cutie mark earrings and a Mane Six cutie mark bracelet from her. I love them!

The other Applejack was organizing a Pony cosplay photoshoot for Saturday at two, with us meeting in front of Artists Alley, so I spent a good amount of time telling everyone who took my picture (PEOPLE ASKED TO TAKE MY PICTURE!!!!) about the shoot and recommending they show up and hang out. <3 I also told the couple of other Pony cosplayers I found.

Saturday was fun. One of my favorite moments was walking back through the reg room and seeing two guys in Pony backpacks. I giggled madly and walked in front of them and waited for them to look up. Their faces when they realized I was Dash was PRICELESS!

So 2:00 rolled around and we grouped up. We had four Dashies including myself, two Pinkies, a Twilight Sparkle, a Doctor Whooves, a Big Mac, and our two Applejacks. When I caught up with Fluttershy the next day she said she was a Digidestined on Saturday. XD

We started outside and had a ball. ChristinaApplejack had hired a cosplay photographer who is now one of my online pals. She's still going through pics but here's what she has for us:

This one is a show reference. Twilight Sparkle has a spell that can give characters mustaches. XD

http://www.flickr.com/photos/katsuyaweller/5830983600/in/photostream

http://www.flickr.com/photos/katsuyaweller/5822661915/in/photostream

Here's a group shot by an unknown photographer:

http://manehattan.tumblr.com/post/7254434418/horrendouscosplays-please-someone-make-glue

While outside a guy dressed as a Pokemon Trainer came up to us. He was riding a bicycle and had an MP3 player on the handlebars. When he jumped on the bike his shtick was to play the Pokemon Bike Riding song. He looked at us, fiddled with his player, and all of a sudden the MLP FiM theme song played! <3 He played that and Winter Wrap-up for us and we had a ball!

Then it started to rain so we ran inside to the DoubleTree to continue. We went to the second level to scout out a new picture area and saw a bunch of Doctor Who players in a prime spot. We called down to ask them if they'd hold the spot, and they looked up and ACKNOWLEDGED OUR DOCTOR WHOOVES!

It was awesome.

We then took some more awesome pics (and hopefully Katsuya will have them up soon, poor girl) and our Pokemon trainer found us again! This time someone recorded us. XD At this point we only knew the chorus for Winter Wrap-up, though I can now recite the whole song.

<lj-embed id="60" />

Saturday night I attended a performance of Cosplay Burlesque, which is also playing tonight at Otakon. Really check it out if they ever attend a con you'll be at.

What a great experience, I hope to return every year. <3

Here are the few pics I managed to take. I was having too much fun. I did get a video of the annual Digimon vs. Pokemon soccer game:

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v16/Dragonessa/AnimeNext2011/

My sister and some AnimeNext stuff

I can't honestly remember if I mentioned this here, but my sister is getting married on Friday.

BRB WAILING!

*ahem* Sorry. >_>

Anyway, he's very nice, his name is Ben and they've been living together for a few years now. He's in a wheelchair due to a car accident when he was young. I'm not really sure of the extent of the damage, but he can get around pretty well. Its mostly in his legs.

She wants a small City Hall ceremony with the reception on the beach. So she put in for a beach permit and sent out the invites due to some pressure and people saying the permit was bound to go through.

So I purchased tickets and sent my roommates for the MLP Fair their money. The Fair is on the 8th and 9th, and I;m levaing the 7th.

Then her permit is declined because its the 4th of July weekend. >.<

So now she's still getting married this week, but the get together reception thingy has now been moved to the weekend of the Fair.

I am NOT missing the Fair. XD My father was kind of mad, but I'm paying for her wedding cake and attending the ceremony, and my sister told me the ceremony was the important thing to her. So hopefully this will blow over with minimal comments from him.

Oh, and now Ben is in the hospital over night. @__@

They went in to get a piece of his medical equipment replaced and decided to run some tests. Turns out he's diabetic and HAD A MILD HEART ATTACK WITHOUT KNOWING!

So um...he's in there overnight for observation.

He should be okay, though. Scary still.

I do have an entry about AnimeNext. A bunch of us Pony cosplayers had a photoshoot and were bopping around being silly for a good hour or so. The photographer we got is still editing pics, though, so I'm going to hold off on it for now.

The Meet!

I meant to post for a week now, but my little MP3 player went missing and I've been bummed since.

http://pics.livejournal.com/sailorangei/pic/0001h39e/g12

I definitely had it on the way TO meet Karen in NYC last Friday. I've been going crazy. Jewel has guests and hasn't had a chance to finish looking, the restaurant and rest stops we hit on the way down have nada, another passenger with us is checking the McD we hit in Jersey, Kar checked with the rental car people, and basically the only options left to me (after a report with the MTA and a Craigslist ad) is the Ferry's lost and found, and to put a reward poster at the bus shelter across the street from my house. More on that later.

I met up with Kar by the Port Authority at 2. She had Aura (real name) and she was pretty awesome.

We went through Jersey and picked up a last minute pal, Daria (StarGleamer). She also was pretty awesome.

We made it to Jewel's around 9, and Kar dropped off me and Daria and booked it for another collectors house. The two of them are part of My Little Pony Talk on BlogTalkRadio.com along with another girl. They wanted to hold a two year anniversary show that night (which I'm listening to now).

Jewel's house is huge and awesome, and the living room had a wonderful amount of Pony people hanging out. <3

Since Dan and I had been working on the costume and LITERALLY finished it at the 11th hour on Thursday, I hadn't been able to try the full thing on before I left. I asked the girls if they would take a look and help me with any critique before tomorrow and they said yes. <3

They loved it, but recommended I not do the pigtails. Instead I clipped one of each lock above and below a ponytail.

Everyone LOVED it.

I love how well the iron-on and the ears came out. I carved them from foam and covered them in felt, then attached them to the headband from a halo included with the wings.

Issues need fixing: I'm not 100% happy with how the red layer lies and feel it can use some tweaking. And I need to build up my tail. I actually was in Michaels to return stuff today and forgot I needed more embroidery floss for it. XD >.<

I have til the 9th to finish everything before AnimeNext.

I had loads of fun, and everyone loved my costume. MaycrestMom's little girls kept smiling at me. <3

Here's more pics, including customs and my purchases for those who care XD:

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v16/Dragonessa/MDMeet2011/

I didn't get home til 4:30 AM on Sunday, and that's when I think I lost my little MP3 player. I didn't need to deal with rain til literally then, and I think it may have dropped out of my bag when I pulled out my umbrella. :( I'll hang a flier there, and if he doesn't come back to me, then I hope he's making his new owner happy, like he made me happy when I found him.

SO MANY EVENTS!

First, costume status:

Ears: Came out better than expected! I carved them from foam then covered them in felt when I realized the paint wasn't going to work. I initially wanted to attach them to those little metal bendy hairclips (which I mistakenly called banana clips) but they weren't secure enough. I was going to buy a headband but then I realized the one that held the halo that came with my wings was covered in light blue fabric that was similar to the shade I'm using.

Glued them on today and I LOVE them, came out better than I imagined!

Waiting on the two blue shirts I ordered. Unfortunately there's a SNAFU with the iron-on transfer sheets I purchased. Turns out its for INKJET only, I need LASERJET ones!

I gotta run around and hope the craft stores sell them. If anything I can use fabric paint on one shirt and purchase the correct transfer online before AnimeNext, and yes I will be cosplaying a Pony to an anime con!

The skirt should be finished tomorrow.

I took Friday off work and will meet Karen and her friend Aura in Manhattan around 2. <3

We'll be back late Saturday.
Last weekend of the month I'll go to visit Steve.

THEN things get CRAZY!

AnimeNext is June 10-12. Gonna meet beechan2 and we're rooming with like six other girls! XD

THEN WONDER OF WONDER MIRACLE OF MIRACLES I GET TO ATTEND THE MLPFAIR IN JULY OMFG!

I literally went in under an hour from:

"I don't think I'll be able to attend the Fair, you guys..."

to

"OH MY GOD OH MY GOD YOU GUYS I'LL BE GOING TO THE FAIR YEEEEEEEEEE!"

I was in the MLPTP chat and mentioned I need a ride from NYC and Alatariel was like, "I'm going that way and back again, you can ride with ME!"

And I mentioned I would need roomies and she was like, "Ivy still needs a roomie..."

So I PMd Ivy and she checked with her roomie Lunar_Scythe and got back to me in under an hour AND I'M GOING TO THE FAIR!

That's July 8th and 9th in Rhode Island. It RARELY comes to the east coast so I had to jump at the chance.

I felt bad since that meant that I couldn't come upstate for my vacation that week, but Kiera wanted to visit Craige in July anyway. so it was all good.

I'll go up the first weekend in August for the local fair.

And in between all that, my massive dental work will begin. Apparently as much as dad wants me out of the house, he's willing to pay for my dental work.

He confuses me.

BUT OMG THE FAIR!

I do NOT enjoy being a girl, thank you very much!

The stuff under the cut contains talk of bras.

I haven't had a new bra in years. My old ones only still fit me because as I gained weight, they stretched along with me, and I used bra extenders on some.

I do NOT wear padding or underwire in any form. I don't need it or want it. My bra choices are basically white cotton slings that hold my boobs in place.

Unfortunately I'm 48 around now, and most of the bra manufacturers seem to think that means your tits are equally huge. Mine are not. XD

I am a 48 C the general consensus seems. But we were having the WORST time finding them in the mall stores with the lack of features I request.

Not even Lane Bryant. The only ones they had there were sports bras.

I hate this.

We went out again today, so my mother and sister and Jenn could try and help me with the above issue. I decided I want some rainbow nail polish for the costume. Jenn showed me a Hello Kitty mini set that had five colors, four of which I needed, for like $3. I got the other two colors in a dollar store.

But bogdammit, I hate trying to wear nail polish. I FEEL it on my nails for a while afterwards. XD<

I fiddled with some options. Its too many colors for layering so each nail is going to have two colors side by side, like this. Each hand will have:

red-orange
to
orange-yellow
yellow-green
green-blue
blue-purple

The Hello Kitty ones aren't working so well. I'm gonna try scaring up some nail polish thinner at CVS before buying different ones, though.

I have a folder in Chrome of bookmarks of things I need to decide on and order THIS WEEK. XD

I bought a new pillow on Saturday.

What shmuck ironed a pillow that it has to have TWO warnings NOT to iron it?

People are goddamned stupid.

Shopping!

Spent most of the day at the Mall.

I can't find any cheap long nylon rainbow hair, so I picked up some embroidery thread. Some people have been using it as My Little Pony hair on customs, so its my fallback. I got several skeins for about $4, so its great. <3

Random example:

http://bluepegasus.deviantart.com/gallery/2155706#/d29nk8u

Oddly enough, Best Buy had more recent releases of some Humongous Games. They had Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo and Pajama Sam 2, which I already own, but then I found Freddi Fish 2! Woot!

Found something special for a_mae_zing in the mall. <3

AND THIS REALL AWESOME SHINY UNICORN BAG FOR ONLY $5 OMFG I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

PIc later, if I stop I won't make the post in time. XD

Still looking for a cotton shirt for the iron on transfer. I'm forgoing fishnets for actual tights, but I want to make sure I have a decent color choice. I'm gonna show Dan the color guide for the site I wanna use and ask him.

Andrew said that the Master Chu game arrived today. <3 Its an upgrade from my old game, it actually has the box and manual. Awesomesauce.

Feeling better about this costume. I just need to decide on sneakers, but Mom and I are going out tomorrow. I want to hit up DSW as well.

I love my laptop!

So I finally broke down and bought software to help copy my iTunes library.

Fuck it, my tax return is in and I made good money this paycheck.

So I have my iTunes all set, ScummVM works great on my Humongous games, I still need to work out some kinks with DOSBox and fullscreen mode., and as soon as I'm done here I'll install the software for importing my cassette tapes...

but for all intents and purposes, my laptop is fully functional for my needs!

>_> Okay, I lie, I left some pics and video on the downstairs PC, but Dan lent me a bigger storage device and I think I can finish the migration.

I am just so thrilled with this. I love you, Pinkie Pie the laptop. <3

Posting now since I might not get a chance later.

Going over Dan's to work on the rest of my skirt. My tax return came in so I can purchase some of the other things I needed.

When I went to Game Champ I took advantage of some of the area to get some shopping done. Picked up some pretty rainbow jewelry and iron-on shirt transfers.

I'll hit the Mall this weekend for some other things. I want to make a rainbow tail but can't find a rainbow wig long enough for my needs. Maybe some fake hair extensions?

Cannot wait for the Meet! <3

And my bird woes continue

On Saturday, I found a dead robin behind the bus shelter after work. Not wanting to smell death and decay the next few days, I grabbed a plastic bag and moved him into the grassy area. It was an unusual spot for a dead bird, but I figured he was old and dropped out of the tree of natural causes.

Yesterday I found another robin in the same place. Again, I moved him with something (a baby wipe I had with me) nearer the previous bird, which was indeed still there and decaying, so it wasn't the same one.

Guess what I find today? Next to instead of behind the bus shelter this time.

Once again I call 311, NYC's non-emergency hotline, to report this. I figure maybe someone put pesticide or poison in the tree or in the area.

They tell me, dead animals are Sanitation and transfer me over. Sanit guy tells me they could take two days to respond.

While taking down my info, he tells me that usually this is the Dept of Health's job, but they're currently not taking dead bird cases.

But they will next month.

Because they want to test them for West Nile.

FML

I go on to express my concern. He tells me, "its not the season for it."

I tell him I'm pretty sure the disease isn't looking at a calendar going, "Can't infect anyone, it isn't May yet!" Plus we've had crazy warm weather, but then again I am not a scientist.

Hopefully I won't, you know, DIE OF WEST NILE before my replacement NES games that Amy had ordered today arrive.

I WOULD LIKE TO PLAY ORIGINAL MARIO BEFORE I DIE THANK YOU.

Now if you excuse me, I'll be fretting and checking my temperature every half hour.

I LOVE YOU ALL.

Really pissed off, I WANT my goddamned games!

In high school I met this girl named Amy.

I was friends with her for a while after HS ended, but eventually her mental problems and some of the lies that came with that pushed me away. I still hang around her older brother sometimes (and harbored a massive crush on him. A crush of nerdiness).

Before we "broke up" I lent her my NES. I had originally did it for a few Ponies, but over the course of that year she completely gave them up. I got to keep who I didn't have in my collection, and sell the rest on her behalf.

I still let her keep the NES, because I talk to her brother still and can easily get it if I decide I'd like it back. But for now, it was still okay for her to use it.

Today I got a text from Andrew saying that I could have the NES back. I rightly guessed that they had invested in one of those new machines that play the older games. Turns out the GameChamp near them is selling a machine that plays NES, SNES, and Genesis games.

I call Andrew after work to talk to him about this and how happy I am to get the NES back, and try and build up a small NES collection. He then put his sister on, which is the first time I spoke with her personally in a good year. Sometimes he'll put her on if I ask about her, or if I remember her birthday and want to check in, but we don't talk beyond that.

I start chatting about how I can't wait to play my Mario again.

And she reveals she "gave the games to the people at Game Champ and they said they'll see what they could do with them."

At first I thought she meant fix them, because the two Mario games I had (the combo that game with the NES and 3) and the unlicensed NES game had some age issues. My Marios were relatively fine but Master Chu and the Drunkard Hu was kinda bad.

NO.

SHE GAVE MY PERSONAL GAMES TO GAMECHAMP.

"They were really bad, Jessie." Don't care, my call, not yours.

"I didn't do it to be evil." No, but WHY DID YOU DO IT?!

Those were the only three childhood games I still had. That Mario one? My NES is the one with the trackpad. Its the original copy that came with that NES. They stopped making that cart and only released the Mario/Duck Hunt combo.

It was with that damn system for YEARS until you decided "Oh no, I'll just SELL THE THINGS THAT I WAS TRUSTED WITH AND BREAK UP A SET THAT'S BEEN INTACT SINCE THE 80s!" (non-direct quote)

Then she goes, "They have plenty of games, Jessie! they're probably still there!"

She neglected to mention until a few hours later that this happened TWO MONTHS AGO. The games are LONG gone, Game Champ only has 14 NES games. You want two copies of Simon's Quest? I can get you those!

My father beat that Mario game once. We found the true Princess.

A lot of memories in that cart. And now its gone.

I'm so goddamned heartbroken and upset. I did a LOT for her when we were still friends, and I can't help thinking this is her punishing me somehow,

ESPECIALLY since it was two months ago and she could have gone back and tried to retrieve them instead of talking me into taking a look.

By the way, I know this isn't a MAJOR THING for many of you, so I'm making a special tag. :it's okay not to care. It really is. If you don't care about this, don't worry. <3 I still love you.

But I still care.

And I wish I had my childhood carts back. They were the only ones left. They meant something to me. I trusted her with them.

And she traded them in.

What HAVE I gotten myself into?!

Went fabric shopping with Dan. He's gonna help me sew it up and helped me pick them. Different material in the shades of Rainbow Dash's hair that we're going to layer and make all floofy! <3

I need to find wings.

I thing I'm going to get some blue sneakers, and blue fishnet stockings. The shirt will be blue with an iron-on transfer of RD's symbol, and I'm thinking of wearing a blue fishnet long sleeve shirt with it.

Thoughts?

Movies in 3-D and costuming

Why are movies in 3D hated on so much?

So its gimmicky, it was gimmicky back then, but I find it really fun, plus its not like EVERY MOVIE EVER will be in 3D one day. I know some people can't see it, like our friend Rob who has cataracts, but I'm also simple-minded and easily amused.

I like things that pop out!

...and change color...

...and make noise...

...and light up...

...and glow in the dark...

...I have issues.

I'm planning to try and put together a quick Pony-inspired costume for the Meet. This is a inspiration, but not the EXACT thing I wanna do:

http://mlparena.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=179377/highlight=ribbs.html

I wanna be Rainbow Dash, I thing I can use my rainbow cyberlocks I bought at AnimeNext last year:

I'm having trouble finding pony-esque ears, but I wonder if resin kitty ears like these will pass? I can improvise some like Caishide did there (pool noodle!).

I really wanted to do the fuzzy, but then I remembered I'll be wearing this in MAY. XD OUTSIDE.

So I want to do the floofy floofy skirt, and probably a shirt with Dash's symbol. And maybe some nylon hair to make a tail. XD

Any advice?

Jessie's Wild Turkey Adventure!

We have wild turkeys here on Staten Island. I see them occasionally, but I'm not usually in the areas they hang around most.

I once saw a white one cross at the light as naturally as a human would. XD

So I'm VERY tired and on the way home. Mom was making hot dogs for dinner, but BossLady feeds us Saturdays and SHE had made hot dogs. I decided to cash in my Subway points. <3

Around 5:30 as the bus passes my normal stop on the way to Subway, I see these:

http://www.twitvid.com/LSGOB

*embed not compatible with LJ, sorry guys*

Ugh, I was so tired, I meant to say weird or freaky, not creepy. I REALLY loved these guys! <3

The whole bus had whiplash, there were people gathering, even gawking across the street.

I got out and called my mother so she could come out and gawk (we live on the block behind the store these gents were hanging out in front of) and tried to figure out what to do.

They were in and out of the traffic, as you see, and I was scared they were gonna get hit. I called 311, which is NYC's non-emergency hotline, and tried to get someone out here to relocate them.

They said since it was a traffic obstruction it was a 911 call and transferred me over there.

YES. I TECHNICALLY CALLED 911 ON ACCOUNT OF TURKEY. XD

Of course, you all know 911 did not respond to turkey. Though once or twice a squad car passed by with sirens blaring and all four would point towards it and gobble. XD Such cuties.

I was out there with them for a good hour or so. I actually walked with them down to the corner, which was one of Staten Island's busiest intersections, so I was really worried.

A nice man and lady kept me company while we made some more calls. I tried the zoo, but they closed at 5 and the nice man said he had no keepers to send me, but other people had called when they were further down than I had found them. @__@

The animal control place on Staten Island was privately owned and wanted to charge me $150 PER ANIMAL. >.<

At the end I decided to wish them luck and hope they made it to wherever okay. *sniffle* I'll miss the little fellas.

Oh and like four people called to me, "ARE THESE YOUR TURKEYS?!"

>_>

YEAH I'M JUST TAKING THEM FOR A WALK. IT GETS CRAMPED IN MY HOUSE AND THEY NEEDED SOME AIR!

Have some more pics. I MISS YOU GUYS BE SAFE!

This week is kicking my ass

My BossLady asked me to work tomorrow.

I couldn't think of any reason to say no besides, "I think I'm about to have a psychotic breakdown."

...actually that's probably why I did say yes. >.<

In Pony-news, Kar Red Roses finally got in touch with me! I think work was kicking her ass too. She's a florist and its Easter week, probably a lot of floral crosses and lilies.

In three weeks we'll be driving down with one or two other Pony Peeps to MustBeJewel's Maryland Pony Meet!

She's been running them since 2003, and some of you might remember me going down last year.

I can't wait, I AM SO EXCITE OMG.

I do need to ask for that Friday off, though. Karen couldn't get Sunday off so its traveling down on Friday and leaving late Saturday after the Meet.

Still don't know about the MLP Fair. Its on the east coast for the first time since I've been able to afford possibly going.

Karen is 500 shades of awesome and I can't wait to go back to Jewel's. <3

Weekend pt 2

At Dan's, watching him play Portal 2 instead of having a Babylon 5 night. The dialog is AWESOME.

Anyway, starting where I left off, we had a wonderfully fun dinner at The Melting Pot. <3 Jenn's friend is pretty awesome. If its your birthday they give you balloons, some fondue chocolate, a picture frame, and take your group's picture and put it in for you.

And Jenn had gotten me a Pearls Before Swine crocodile plush. I think its supposed to be Larry specifically. <3 Pearls Before Swine!

And I bought a bottle of the house dressing that I love so much. Its kind of like a honey mustard. I don't eat salads much at home but I did use it on some chicken the other night and it made it more bearable. I do get tired of chicken. -_-

We made it back to Staten Island after following Dan and Rob back to the highway and were good. Jenn unfortunately left her cell phone with Larry. I was so upset for her, she LIVES off that thing!

I couldn't think how to contact her (I CAN'T JUST TEXT HER YOU KNOW!) though I did receive a frantic email an hour later.

The next morning we had to check out by 11 AM. I was able to show Steve a few episodes of Man vs. Food, and he liked it! Suh-weet!

We went to the place where I buy him bagels when I visit him for breakfast, and then we went to Jenn's to try and return her cell. Jenn was still in NYC with her friend, and her mother was at her own friend's for the weekend. >.<

So we went to the zoo instead! ^__^

THAT was awesome. We have a small zoo, really. Got a new reptile house a couple years ago, and that's really the highlight. No big animals besides the AWESOME anaconda! She had just shed recently so she was all pretty and shiny for us! And some of her shed was floating in the water and I WANTED IT but Steve thought it was gross BUT HE DOESN'T UNDERSTAAAAND!!!

We also went into the petting zoo and hung out with and fed and petted the goats and alpacas and sheep. And I got to pet the Clydesdale! ^_____^ HE LOVED ME AND WANTED TO COME HOME WITH ME I KNOW IT!

We had dinner at my house, then headed over to Dan's before Steve had to leave. We played Fluxx and Munchkin Cthulhu, which was fun.

Then he had to leave, which was sad.

At least I was with Dan and we had some Babylon 5 time. <3

Weekend with Steve

UGH I need to calm my mind down and write this entry! >.<

*puts on Lite radio station* UB40! That's better! I can't concentrate with Chris Brown screaming YEAH YEAH YEAH at me!

Steve hit some traffic on the way down Friday and didn't get in til nearer 4:30. I had clocked out by then. We bought a few munchies from work and some cake for Granma for Saturday, then headed to my place.

Steve had said he was craving pizza, so I had told mom if she wanted us to stay for dinner to order some. I had to make sure all of dad's uniforms were out of the basement and do some house laundry anyway.

Mom made us sit down with Dad like a family. -_- He usually eats upstairs and mom and I eat in the kitchen or living room. Dad was better behaved in front of Steve, at least.

I finished up the laundry while we watched my DVR shows and I packed up for the hotel.

We headed to the Victory Motor Inn, which I had passed by for years but when we first started dating, we had cheaper options. Most of you saw my vlog from Friday night about it. I hope we go back again next time. The wifi signal said Ramada, so I guess they purchased it? It would explain the remodeling they've been doing.

Dad wanted us to leave for NJ by 4ish Saturday. We woke up and went to IHOP for breakfast. SO crowded, but since it was just the two of us we were seated kind of fast. The owner of that branch is a local celeb person, Dragon Kim, who owns a couple of karate dojos, including one near me. He had gone in to work, I honestly think its the first time I saw him actually there.

He picked my hoodie off the floor. SQUEE!

Then we went to my house and played with the dog while waiting for Dad.

It got REALLY wet and rainy and miserable. We followed Dad into NJ and Steve was trying to maintain SAFE DRIVING DISTANCE on a WET AND SLIPPERY HIGHWAY while Dad played games trying to convey he wanted Steve to drive closer so no one cut in front. >.<

We spent a few hours at my grandparents. Grandma isn't taking very good care of herself. Her shirt was faded and unwashed-looking, her toenails were way overgrown, and the tiny place is no longer as clean as the big house in Wilkes-Barre was. :( Mom said in the past she thinks its because she can't be on a separate floor than Grandpa like she used to, so she stays in the back room all day. I think cleaning used to give her something to do as well.

It really hurts to see her not caring anymore. I wish they came to Staten Island with us instead of just leaving PA for Long Island, then to Jersey when Regina basically stole them away.

Steve and I left for Hoboken about 6:30. The rain really wasn't letting up. I was guiding him using printed directions, then I fell asleep.

I woke up and we were in Hoboken, at least, but Steve was lost in the sidestreets. We had an argument, I stormed out of the care, pulled out Jeffery, grabbed a wild wifi signal, and found we had nearly been there. >.< I started walking, my umbrella not doing much good.

I called Dan and Rob and they found me, and we then called Steve and directed him there.

I really think the problem is the iPhone GPS. They're not very clear. If you don't REALLY zoom in, you miss the names of sidestreets and keep missing where you need to be. You can't run one efficiently while driving.

I keep meaning to buy him a TomTom or something, but I always figure I can put it off til next visit, then we get lost.

I am dating Ryoga.

Since it's late, I'll continue tomorrow. Its almost midnight. XD

<lj-template name="qotd" lang="en_LJ">

This is just silly. Don't you think ALL THE SCREAMING would wake them up?

Shnookies: Zzzzzzzzzz

Everyone who is awake: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH OMG WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE AAAAAAAAAAA!

You: *also too busy screaming to notice whether Shnookie-ookums is awake or not*

Anyways...

At Dan's again, we're still on the first disc of Season 5. XD I wanna get to Day of the Dead already!

Since tomorrow is his Glee night, I'll write up a nice long weekend post then.

Steve left a few hours ago...

I miss him, but we went over Dan's before he left. We played some Flux, Munchkin Cthulhu, and Farkle! Totally not euphemisms but we had fun with the words. XD

I do miss him, but Dan was nice enough to let me stay and offer to drive me home later. We're watching Babylon 5 now.

Jenn left her cell phone with the present she gave me last night. Her friend is going to bring her home, and on the way they'll stop by here.

I plan on making a big entry talking about the weekend tomorrow, but I'm too distracted by the episode and I don't know how late Dan wants me to stay.

I really miss Steve though.
