Tranquility II Customization

Two things

I've come to love this style, but I've got two customisation problems that I can't figure out.

First, my Friends page refuses to display more than 10 entries no matter what number I enter in the box. I want to be able to see around a hundred... Do the scripts react to my large numbers with a small default?

Second, is it possible to have my Links List above my Page Summary? The links are invisible way down there.

Adding free text (blurb, etc) to the sidebar?

Maybe this has been answered before, but I didn't see anything for it..

Is there any way I could add a free text area to my sidebar? I've managed to muddle my way through several tutorials to arrive at

But I'm at a loss to finish the oooone tiny thing I'd like to have.. Any ideas?

Pictures in Sidebar?

Hi all, I'm using the S2 Tranquility layout and would very much need your help!!!

How do I put pictures into my sidebar??? Linkable or not linkable, doesn't matter. I've read through almost every page and question in this community but nothing seems to help. Please help? I would like to put in my facebook badge or a page counter if possible.

Active nav links

I just found that in Tranquility II when you go to ?skip=# on the recent entries page or your friends view, the active link in the sidebar isn't a link anymore. I'd like to know if it's possible to make it stay a link even when it's active.

Two small questions regarding subject line

I am currently using Tranquility II, which I'm perfectly happy with except for the space between the subject line and the date, does anyone know how to minimize this space?

Secondly, does anyone know a code to get rid of the 'padlock' and 'eye' images that appear in the subject line of friends only and private journal entries?

Hi,

I'm wondering if there is an easy way to list the entry titles on the sidebar so that they contain the total number of replies instead of just a pound sign (#). If you look at magnoliafires, or dana_chosenart, you'll get an idea of what I'm after.

changing the "#" in the page summary

So first time user of tranquility II and the thing that bugs me is that you can't actually see the number of comments to every entry in the "page summary" in the sidebar. Now this is a big favorite part of my sidebar and makes it a bit easier to keep track of the amount of comments I get or if there's been a new comment in a recent entry etc without having to scroll down the entire page, or check the "view recent comments" option.

With tranquility II this can't be seen, instead there's just the typical number symbol "#" which indicates that there are comments but not how many. Is there any way to change this into the actual comment number?

I'm also wondering if there's a way of switching places with the links list and the page summary so the link list is at the top and the page summary is below that?

I checked the memories here but couldn't find an answer to these questions.

header image help

hello,
hope this community is still active, it seems great!
anyways i am an absolute beginner at CSS so this is probably a very stupid question, but here goes:

i added a background image to my header, basically a banner that i want the original title text to go over. so far so good except that it's leaving a bit of the old header there (i tried to match the colors but failed...)
what am i doing wrong? take a look at my lj to see what i mean. the code i'm using is:

Changing Tiny Font for Comments?

I've already seen this entry that deals with my same issue, apparently. (smile) So I have to wonder if I'll get an answer -- but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm an assistant moderator at a community that uses Tranquility II -- and trying to view comments as I make them is a bear. (sigh)

I've used the 'Custom Options' tab and set Fonts for Comments from 100% all the way up to 200% -- but see absolutely no change at all (???). Yes, I also tried setting pixel size...

By the way, is there some place to easily get the CSS for Tranquility II?

Any and all help greatly appreciated. Trying to moderate when I can barely see the comment box text is maddening (to say the least!).

About no subject and the view of my layout

Hello there,

So, it's been a while since I finished setting my layout and tweaking everything I could find. And I love it, I do. The thing is, I remember adding a bit of code (right now can't even remember which part) so that when there was no subject in the comments made to my post, it wouldn't say (no subject). I liked that. But then I realized that even when there is a subject to the comment, it won't show.

See? There should be the subject right in that circle.

Ah, also. I was wondering. When you click to see my post, to comment for example, it looks just like it does in the front page of my livejournal. With the header and the links on the left, etc. I was wondering if there's a way to make it look like most of the journals do, when you click on one post. Like this:

You know? Standard? I remember there was something I put on the code or clicked or something, but now I can't remember. Help anyone? Thanks!

Is there a way to get rid of some of the links at the bottom of each entry on the recent entries page? 'Edit Tags | Add to Memories | Tell a Friend | Track This' aren't really necessary and just make the entries look cluttered.

How do I add a header image to a basic account?

And is there any way to remove the sidebar/menu altogether and put links in the main column with the entries, just below the header?

Okay, I'm not sure how to phrase this question. I made my journal's layout, changed tons of things and did this banner thing, and I love it. I do. But I remember a long time ago, clicking somewhere to say that I wanted my layout to stay as such, even when I click on the cutid link. Now, I want to see how it would look if I, somehow change it, so that when you click on it, it shows the base layout.

I don't think I'm explaining myself. Like, on this comm. You have the tranquility2 layout but then when you click to make a comment, it changes to the base layout. You know? I want something like that in my journal. Help?

an embarrassing site

I think it's so embarrassing that some anonymous poster should leave a comment on my site stating how difficult it is to manipulate a simply reply. I'm as amateur as they get when it comes to css. I'm wondering if there's anybody here who might be kind enough to take a look at it (in IE 5.2) and tell me what it is I'm doing wrong. I realize that some of the messages in this community are created by people who have successfully altered Tranquility ii to their specified needs AND their blogs look just as nice in IE5.2 as they do in Firefox or Camino or Safari.

This is the blog I'm referring to slavezombie and if Safari or any of the previously mentioned browsers are used, you can see what I'm trying to accomplish in terms of design. It would be nice to get this image accurately displayed in a Mac version of IE5.2 OR a Windows version of IE6.

Header Issues

Okay, I've managed to insert an image into the header but for some reason there is a space on the right and I can't seem to get rid of it. I'm sure my image dimensions are right so I can't understand why I'm getting a gap. Played with padding and margins again but had no luck. I'm sure it's something very simple that I'm just overlooking.

Header and Entries Width

Hi,

I was wondering how I would make the header's right edge line up with the right side of the entries below it? I noticed the header overlaps a little, and it bugs me. I tried messing around with the margins and playing around with the width of the entries but nothing worked.

Tranquility ii & IE6 (weirdness bug)

Can somebody take a look at my blog slavezombie and tell me why the site is not working properly on IE 6? I also have a community blog at tmtwngm that uses the exact same css overrides. The community displays fine, it's only my personal blog that faulters. I'm in the process of uploading my stylesheet.css to my PWP, but I'll be using the same alterations which as effective as of this post. I'm not a css wizard, so please be gentle with me. I just recently learned how to do the css override thing.

About tiny font when answering a comment

I've looked and tried to fix it and it still hates me. *grumbles*

When answering an already made comment in my journal, the font for writing it's very, very little. I can barely see it and it's bothering the hell out of me.

So. What am I doing wrong? My layer is 6102633 and it's very much public. Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Oh, also, I deleted the code that showed "no subject" when someone made a comment without the subject. I was happy with that, very happy, but now even when someone writes a subject, it won't show. And I have no idea what it was I deleted or change so the subject wouldn't show. *sighs* Again, all help really appreciated. *nods*
