Holiday cottages with a toddler?

We're starting to think about holidays for next year.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to find a suitable holiday cottage to stay in with a young toddler? We need two bedrooms cos we all sleep much better if Aled is in his own room.

I'm wondering about Portmeirion. Have people who have experience of staying there got any pointers?
