“Um, hi.”
 

“Huh? Oh, hey…I was, uh, reading, I didn’t see—”
 

“Yeah, I’m sneaky. Ehehe.”
 

“Heh…yeah. Um, so how are you?”
 

“Oh, um, I’m okay. I got the job I told you about…”
 

“You did? Great! Good for you, that’s, that’s really…that’s fantastic. I’m happy for you!”
 

“Thanks, I, uh…I got my first paycheck today, actually. I kind of…was wondering if…”
 

“Yeah, what?”
 

“You, um. You wanna go out?”
 

“Wha…with you? Like—um, sure, yeah. Sure. Where you wanna go?”
 

“Um. Let’s go to Walmart.”
 

“Walma…you want to go to Walmart?”
 

“Yeah. I wanna, y’know, hang out. It’ll be fun.”
 

“…hang out. At Walmart.”
 

“Well, yeah. We can get some stale popcorn and Slushies at the concession thinger, and we can try on hats and read the tacky vampire erotica paperbacks out loud in the book section and chase little kids with those grabby-claw toys and um, stare at the media screens, maybe play some Megaman Racer on the Nintendo setup? Whaddya say?”
 

“…I’ll get my coat.”
 

“I’ll start the car! See, this’ll be fun.”
 

“Hey, uh…”
 

“Yeah?”
 

“…I missed you. Do I get to say that? Is it too soon?”
 

“…no, I don’t think so. I don’t think it’s too soon, I mean. ‘Cause, um. I missed you too.”
 

“You did? Really?”
 

“Yeah. Yeah, I did.”
 

“Oh. Okay, well that’s…hah…that’s cool. So! Let’s go blow your paycheck, shall we?”
 

“Sounds like a plan!”
