We Depend on Independence
Welcome to Sasori's Rock, folks. Amarini Kawaii's been here for 17 days and no severe damage has been done, so other than the irritating speech pattern and the drinking of all the lemonade in my home, things have been going rather well. Yeah, I'd say we're all holding up pretty well. It's kind of nice. Like, totally! And now I have someone to, like, watch my soaps with. It's, like, totally awesome! Speaking of which, can you believe what's going on in Days of Our Lives? It's incredible! Oh, I know! Yeah, that's great. Can we get back to that later? Huh? Oh, yeah, sure. Sorry. Good. Okay, so it's July 4th, a.k.a. Independence Day, the day the Declaration of Independence was signed. Really? I thought it was, like, the day fireworks were invented or something. ...Is she serious? Your guess is as good as mine. Anyway...where I live, we have a big fireworks display on the beach on July 3rd, so we went to that yesterday with my dad, his friend, two of his friend's kids, and my little brother. The show was supposed to start at dusk, which was roughly 9:30, but it started at 10:40. It had rained earlier. My theory is that they took the fireworks inside to keep them from getting wet and it took a while to set them up again. Yeah, and there was, like, a thunderstorm warning too. I was kind of worried we weren't going to get to see the fireworks. It actually did start raining when we left, and there was a big thunderstorm later. It was, like, really scary...I hid under blanket on the couch for, like, the whole thing. Takky was so sweet! He, like, kept me company the whole time. Yeah, yeah...*mutters* While we were at the beach, before the fireworks started, I walked for like ten minutes to get to the nearest restroom. There was a pretty long line, but it moved fast...and thank heaven for that, because while I was waiting, two guys holding a huge American flag came up to the girl in front of me and broke out into a very poor rendition of "God Bless The U.SA." They even waved the flag around for effect, nearly hitting me in the face several times. It can't have been as bad as when you got horrible lost and wandered for 20 minutes trying to find the group. Oh, shut up. Aww, don't worry, Sasori! Everyone gets lost, like, once in a while. She has quite a track record for getting lost. Shut up! Good thing her mom promised to get her a GPS sysytem when she learns to drive. Takusan... Sorry! *sigh* Anyway, yeah, so we went to see the fireworks, and afterward we all crammed into my dad's car– Including her friend Alex. –and went to get some fries from Burger King before heading home. I had a lot of fun talking to Alex. I hadn't gotten the chance to for a while. It turns out he has a girlfriend now, by the way. Her name's Jen. She seems really nice. Yeah, and she's, like, totally cute! I love her hair. Uh-huh. Whatever. Speaking of girlfriends and related subjects, I got a call from Matt yesterday. He wants to get together with me before I go to my grandparents' house for two weeks on the 10th, but the only idea I had was to go see a movie, and he hates movies. I'm sure you'll figure something out. I sure hope so. About my grandparents' house, by the way, I didn't get to go last summer because of my trip to Mexico and Canada. I'm so glad I get to go this summer! I really miss them, and I love going to their house. I get to see my new cousin, too! You, like, have a new cousin? That is so awesome! Yeah, it is. His name's Preston. Oh, and I want to see if I can go to my Aunt Joanne's writing class. I went with her two years ago, but now she teaches it! It's so cool. I, like, can't wait to meet your grandparents, Sasori. They sound so totally cool! ...Uh...about that...I'm not sure you're going to be coming with us. What? Why not? Yeah, why not? I'll, like, be really good, I totally promise! ...*sigh* Can we talk about this later? Like, sure! Yes, let's. Um, okay, we'll do that. Anyway, we'd better get going now. I have to color my picture of the Mad Hatter and the March Hare, Takusan needs to go gather some inspiration for me, and I'm sure Amarini needs to go paint her nails or something. Wow, Sasori, you're, like, totally psychic or something! It's what I do. Anyway, we'll see you next time here at Sasori's Rock!
Sasori out! So can you, like, read my palm? Come on, Ama, let's go watch Passions.
THINGS I DON'T UNDERSTAND
- People who think their singing voice is really great when it's actually really horrible.
- Why all the men in anime cartoons are drawn to look as though they might snap in half if sneezed on.
- Why my dogs will be fighting like, well, dogs one moment and then curled up together contentedly the next moment.
