Denial and Cliche on Turkey Day
Gashi soshite aisatsu, everyone, and welcome to Sasori's Rock! (Happy Thanksgiving!) Ah, what a glorious day. Make a huge meal, eat it, and spend the rest of the day sacked out in front of the fireplace. (Or in your case, watch your dad make dinner while your brother pokes the fire with a stick and your mom sits in the living room reading the Tao Te Ching.) Hey, family traditions are different all over the world. (Thanksgiving is only celebrated in the U.S.A.) Shut up, this is my blog. (You haven't said that in a while. It used to be in every update.) What did I tell you? Family tradition. Anyway, I had a great Turkey Day. We had cornbread, mashed sweet potatoes, green bean casserole with portobello mushrooms, brussel sprouts au gratin, and sliced turkey and stuffing in some sort of herb sauce. Not a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, but tasty nonetheless. Oh, and we had cherry pie for dessert. It was, like, really good. *Sigh* Hai, Amarini Kawaii, you said that six times. Well, it was good! Can't I say anything without you, like, condensing it? (I think you mean condemning, Ama.) Oh yeah! *giggle* Sorry, Takky. Takusan, why did you have to invite your girlfriend over for dinner? (She is not my girlfriend!) I'm not? Moving on! Okay...well, some of you may have noticed that Takusan and I didn't post before leaving for New York. We are deeply sorry for this and would like to explain by saying that it just slipped our mind due to the stress and confusion of packing and making various last-minute preparations. (It was a lot of trouble getting there and I had to ride in the cargo bay for two hours and fifteen minutes on two separate flights, but it was worth it.) Definitely! I had the best time of my life. I went shopping at Macy's and Strawberry, stayed at the Grand Hyatt hotel, toured the city with a guide named Hardy Phippen- (No joke, people) -made a cameo appearence on the CBS Early Show, and sang on the big stage: Carnegie Hall! (Excellent performance, by the way.) Arigatou, Takusan. Oh, we also went to see two Broadway plays, Lion King and Phantom of The Opera. (Both were incredibly awesome. The special effects and costumes in Lion King rocked! Plotwise, however, I like Phantom better.) It was the most amazing and most depressing thing I have ever seen. I cried. (Sissy.) Excuse me?! I saw you crying too! (What?! I did not!) Aww, did you really? (No!) Like a baby. That's so sweet! I like, totally love it when guys aren't afraid to cry. (Well...maybe a little. But not like a baby!) Not your girlfriend, huh? Shut up! Oh, shoot! I have to go or I'll totally miss my plane. Bye, Sasori! Oh, and thanks for, like, inviting me for dinner, Takky. *smooch* Seeya later! Good lord. Did Amarini Kawaii just kiss my muse on the cheek? That was annoying. Anyway, we have to go now, right Takusan? ...Takusan? Hello? *Waves hand in front of Takusan's face* Earth to baka... (*Blank expression, complete with stupid grin*) *Sigh*. Hey, I've always wanted to try this... *gets up on chair and pokes Takusan's forehead* (*Teeters slightly for a moment, falls backward, and slams into the floor*) Cliched, but so much fun to watch. Well, happy Thanksgiving once again, and we'll see you next time here at Sasori's Rock!
Aikou kara Sasori! (I still say she's not my girlfriend...*sigh*...)
