RSP RSET Service Provider Network

RSET is available through RSET Service Providers

RSET is delivered primarily through a network of authorized RSET Service Providers (RSPs) who use the platform to create value-added solutions for their clients. Rather than relying solely on RSET personnel, local RSPs perform scanning, data collection, scenario development, training creation, litigation modeling, and simulation services using their existing drone, Matterport, LiDAR, and photogrammetry workflows. This model allows clients to work with trusted providers in their region while giving RSPs the ability to expand their service offerings and generate new revenue streams from the data they already collect. RSET supports the network with software, training, technical assistance, and advanced development services, enabling RSPs to deliver interactive digital twins, training environments, accident reconstructions, emergency planning tools, videos, VR experiences, and other customized solutions to their customers.

Scanning Platforms

RSET can be delivered either as a service or as a software platform.

As a service, we handle the scanning, scenario creation, and video production for you.
If you prefer a hands-on approach, we can guide you on selecting the right scanning equipment and provide training so you can use RSET to build your own scenarios.

RSET is largely scanner-agnostic and can be used with most 3D scanning solutions. As long as your data can be exported or converted into a mesh format, RSET can work with it.

Below is a list of scanning platforms we have vetted and found to be effective.

RSET has no ownership or affiliation with these platforms. They are provided as recommendations based on experience. You are free to use any scanning solution, provided the output can be exported or converted into a supported format such as OBJ or GLB.

Matterport

Leica (Recommend Reality Cloud Studio)

Realsee

LocLab

Faro

Drone Capture

Photogrammetry Software (SkyeBrowse, Pix4D, Zephyr, Birdi, Reality Capture)

iPhone Lidar

MetaReal

3D Assets

RSET supports the import of 3D assets into your scans, including vehicles, characters, and other objects. Our built-in library includes a variety of assets; however, if you do not find what you need, we have provided a list of third-party providers below.

RSET has no affiliation with these providers. Some assets are available for free, while others require purchase.

RSET assumes no responsibility for any third-party assets you download or for compliance with their respective licensing terms.

Additionally, some downloaded assets may require adjustment, such as correcting textures or scaling. Any modifications or fixes are the responsibility of the end user.

This is not an exhaustive list. You may obtain or create assets from any source, as long as they are in a supported format (OBJ, FBX, or GLB) and are properly prepared.

You can also create your own assets by scanning objects using various smartphone apps and then importing them into RSET.

File Preparation and Editing

File Preparation and Editing

In some cases, scan files may need to be cleaned, scaled, aligned, or edited before they can be used in RSET. Unless you are under an active service contract with RSET, file preparation and editing is the responsibility of the end user or the RSET Service Provider (RSP).

Below is a list of free software tools commonly used for editing and preparing 3D scan files:

  • Blender – Full-featured 3D modeling and editing software
  • MeshLab – Excellent for cleaning, repairing, and simplifying meshes
  • CloudCompare – Best for aligning, scaling, and comparing point clouds

Important Note: RSET has no affiliation with any of these third-party software providers. We do not provide support or instruction for their use. However, there are many free tutorials available online (including on YouTube) to help you get started.

Video Production For some RSET users, the end goal is to produce a video for consumption. In that case, we recommend the following free tools:

  • OBS Studio – Excellent for screen recording and live video capture
  • DaVinci Resolve – Professional-grade video editing software (free version is very powerful)

Important Note: RSET has no affiliation with OBS Studio or DaVinci Resolve and does not provide support for these tools.
