The ooc comm and spam comm will be starting from scratch, so don't be alarmed if you don't see any posts up.

Here are the links:

Route_29: main comm
Route_006: ooc comm
Route_1065: logs comm
Slowpoke_gif: spam comm
Pokedaycare: breeders comm

Please friend add each of these communities with your dreamwidth character journals. If you do not have a character journal, go here to make one. If you find you cannot, contact one of the mods for an invite code. If you don't know how to operate DW, don't know how to friend the communities, let one of the mods know and we'll be happy to walk you through it. Most of all, don't stress—Dreamwidth is based off of Livejournal and resembles it very much. If you need a tutorial, we've set some links up for you here!

Pokedaycare? That's new!

That's right, the majority vote was for an egg community, so there it is! We encourage anyone with eggs to give away, breeder or otherwise, to put their ooc offerings there for organizational purposes.

We've included new rules, namely the number of allotted eggs per pokémon per breeder per month (not as complicated as it sounds, we promise!) which you can see here at the pokedaycare community profile. If you don't know how many egg cycles the pokémon has, just use the bulbapedia link provided in the table. Trainers may get only half the allotted eggs that breeders have.

An example: Breeder A breeds his Arcanine and gets a batch of Growlithe eggs. Growlithe eggs have 21 egg cycles, meaning that his Arcanine can only give him 5-6 eggs per month. So if Breeder A decides to have one batch of 4 eggs, if he breeds his Arcanine again, she can only give him 2 more eggs. Now, if Trainer B has an Arcanine, he only gets half as many eggs, so 2-3 for the month. Anything very rare, like a Dratini, will only give Trainer B 1 egg per month.

If that's not clear, please let us know. We thought this system would put a damper on huge 'baby booms' players worried about, without requiring a whole lot of mental math or upkeep. We wanted a straightforward way to determine 'pokemon rarity' and egg cycles seemed to be it. Of course, there may be clutches under the minimum, but not over the maximum, please.

IMPORTANT: Friend-adding

In order to simplify things, we'd like for you to kindly ignore the friend add/remove post for now and instead direct your attention to the Taken Lists instead:

# - H || I – R || S – Z

Please reply to the applicable Taken page, under your series title, with the updated moving code, so that we know who's who.

You have a little over one week, until the 18th of January, to respond to the Taken lists with the updated information. Anyone not present and accounted for by then will be considered to have dropped.

If you cannot present your own character information during that time but do not wish to drop, you may have a proxy do it for you, or contact any of the mods through other channels. Players who are on hiatus are of course exempt and can freely come to us to be added if they miss the deadline.

Okay, I did all that stuff! Now I just want to play!

We feel you. We want to play, too! We also understand that re-adding everybody is going to take some time and adjustment. So for the time being, we took the liberty of making a stickied cross-posting post in the OOC comm, for everyone to keep track of each others' posts, just like we do with fourth wall events. We encourage everyone to track this post until the 19th [see the little bell icon?] at which point it will be un-stickied.

One last detail...

First: We're waiving activity check for the month of January due to LJ troubles, so if you were stressing, you can relax.

Second: Our lovely and talented head mod Stormy is now Sunny! (It matches her personality.) This doesn't really change anything, but it's good to know, right?

Welcome to a new chapter in Route 29's pokemon journey. We're glad to have you with us, guys. ♥

Happy New Years, everyone!

Quick Reminder: If you haven't done so already, please check The Super Important Poll to determine if Route stays on LJ! And then...

ACTIVITY CHECK

This Activity Check encompasses activity made during the month of December. Posts and threads started between December 1 through January 8 may be used as long as they were not used for last month's activity.

*Each thread linked must be at least 10 comments long (meaning 5 from you and 5 from another, or with threadjacking, etc.) and in a different character's journal or a log. Action tagging and logs also count as links. (Full requirements should make 30 comments overall, or at least 15 from your character.)
*Icon-spams count as just one comment.
*Half requirements are for those who were on hiatus for up to half of the month and returned more than one week before the Activity Check. (Half requirements should make at minimum 12 comments overall, or at least 6 from your character.)
*Posts and threads made during the week of the Activity Check can be used for that month's activity check!
*Those who returned within a week of the activity check are exempt from the month's check. Those who are also currently on hiatus are exempt.

Full Requirements are one post and two threads, or three threads, or two posts, one thread, or three posts.
Half Requirements are one post, and one thread of any length, or two threads, one of 10 comments and one of any length.

Characters who joined within a week of the activity check only need one post of any length or one thread of any length to verify that they have introduced. (For this month, this applies to those who were accepted before applications closed.)

The activity check ends on January 8, 11:59 pm EST. Anyone who does not check in will be removed from the game on January 9th.

Because of Livejournal's changes and the fact that many people ended up having headaches or not being able to access the site, we're allowing everyone to fill only half requirements for this month if they can't make full requirements.

In addition, we're allowing you to be exempt from this month's activity check if you can't access livejournal, or know someone who's still having difficulty getting to the site, as long as you let us know HERE.

<B>Character:</b> Name + Journal

As I am sure you are all aware of, Livejournal has undergone a good handful of changes that have made roleplaying here just a little more difficult. With how the staff of Livejournal and the ones in charge of the code have responded and interacted with the members, it looks as though these changes will be permanent.

Therefore, we have been considering moving our game to another site altogether. This is a poll for all of the current players of Route 29, as we are leaving the decision to a majority vote. Please only vote with one journal per player, be it character or personal.

We request that everyone vote in this poll so that your opinions are heard. If you choose not to vote, then we will assume that your decision is to follow whichever decision is reached at the end.

Now, our choices:
- Move to Dreamwidth.org
- Move to Insanejournal.com
- Move to Scribbld.com
- Move elsewhere? (Suggest location in comments)
- Remain on Livejournal.com

View Poll: #1806041

This Poll will remain open until <s>January 16, 2012 at 11:59 pm</s> January 11th.

Please type your answer into the box above. Answers are hidden from the players so no one is pressured to go along with any majority vote and can make the decision for themselves. The poll's window is open for a long point so those on holiday hiatuses will also have a chance to vote. Also, don't feel as though you have to rush your vote! You can take some time and check out the other sites before making a final decision.

Because some of these sites are probably new and unfamiliar to some of you, we've compiled a list of pros and cons for each site so you may make a wiser decision.

Dreamwidth.org
Pros:
- Friendly staff (so far)
- The "prettier" site of the other choices
- Capable of importing old entries, comments, icons, profile data, and more.
- Very easy to navigate
- Longer usernames, post word-count, and comment word-count
- No advertisements
- Uploading multiple icons at once

Cons:
- Layouts are different (though there is a code to adjust flexible squares)
- Table coding doesn't always transfer over well
- Invite codes necessary to create accounts (however, the staff does give a permanent code for games so this can be worked around)
- Comment responses don't go to your 'inbox', only email, for notifications.

More differences between Livejournal and Dreamwidth can be found Here.

Insanejournal.com
Pros:
- 100 icons with a basic account
- Adapts to table coding very well

Cons:
- Basic format isn't very sightly
- Layout coding is a challenge at times
- No default tab titles (pages read like "2367.html" instead of "01 [video]")
- Considered offensive to some with usage of 'patients' and 'asylum'
- Notification difficulties (hit or miss)
- (nearly) no ongoing maintenance/quiet staff
- Can't edit comments

Scribbld.com
Pros:
- Like a smaller, younger livejournal (very similar to LJ)
- 50 icons with a basic/free account

Cons:
- Difficult to navigate (many parts not on the navigation bar)
- the least familiar (everything will be a learning experience for us all)

Another Pros and Cons list; thank you, Kiwi!

Livejournal.com
Pros:
- Everything is already here
- Most familiar

Cons:
- Layouts would wither be simpler or comment pages
- No subject lines would mean for necessary changes in uniform format
- Staff disagreements and future updates which may compromise comfortable RP longterm

Despite the mod team's personal feelings on the matter, we will accommodate with the majority vote. Also, if there are other Journal-esque sites which we just haven't heard of yet but you think may be a decent place for us to play, please let us know in the comments and we'll see how those fare with our playerbase as well.

If the tallying votes all point to us moving and adjusting to a new site, we'll make the necessary notions to assist anyone who is willing to make the change with us. We may not all be able to move in one large wave, but we don't want to leave anyone behind, so we're willing to move anyone who is willing to move with us.

ETA: Dreamwidth is also allowing anyone to make accounts without a code until the end of December, in case one would like to snag an account now. Insanejournal and Scribbld don't require codes, so accounts can be made at any time, but dreamwidth is a bit time-sensitive at the moment.

Thanks, everyone! And we hope everyone's having a great holiday season. Let's keep our spirits up for a wicked 2012!

The midnight cut-off time for applications will be changed to the Friday before the application weekend.

In addition, Applications are Closing for the winter holiday break. Because both Christmas and New Years land on a Sunday, all applications posted after Friday, December 23 to Friday, January 6 will be checked on the weekend of January 7-8. Applications posted after midnight on January 6 will be checked the weekend of January 21-22. We're sorry this was such a sudden decision.

Also, as a temporary solution for Livejournal's chaos, we've changed the layouts of the game's communities and moderator account for easier viewing and usage.

Happy holidays, guys!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYBODY!
Happy holidays, Routesters! With Christmas approaching at great speeds, we'd like to give you guys a heads up as to what you can expect:

- each character will receive one (1) non-transferable reusable TM from any generation. Yes, that's basically a TM that acts like an HM, except it cannot be shared. (HMs are not applicable.)
- each character will receive a care package consisting of: a bag of mixed berries for the pokemon, about a pound of mixed chocolates, a full selection of -Heals, along with a Full Restore and five Revives. Have fun carrying that around!
- there will be an item drop in the care package: any item from your character's home is fair game except for transportation, non-pokemon animals, and weapons.
- the pokemon limit has been increased by 18 slots, for a total of 54 pokemon per trainer: 6 on-hand and 48 in the PC.
- BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND: courtesy of one of our lovely muns, there's already mistletoe all over Goldenrod--however, due to an incident with a whole busload of mistletoe, some seriously upset Butterfree (don't ask...) and a barrage of Sweet Scent, that mistletoe won't stay innocent very long. Furthermore, shipments of this new, poke-catnip mistletoe are being sent everywhere, including Kanto, so have fun with your 101 Dalmantians-esque smooching.

Yes, we know, no eggs this Christmas. You're probably wondering why! Well, firstly, all of the mods are extremely busy this holiday season, and didn't want to add to our workload when we're already trying to push out the FAQ and Kanto updates. Secondly, from an IC perspective, we wanted to keep the characters on their toes. Thirdly...well, keep your eyes peeled, we've got plans for the coming year. :)

SECOND ORDER OF BUSINESS: APP CYCLES!
Several of you came to us at the HMD regarding a desire to see monthly or biweekly app cycles. We listened! We'd just like to say that all of us mods, personally and 'professionally', so to speak, really didn't like the idea of monthly app cycles. Apps have slowed down considerably since finals in November, but we have no doubt they'll pick up again, leaving us with potentially huge workloads in the middle/beginning/end of the month, depending on when we implemented them.

However, we would be open to biweekly app cycles, if our players wanted them! So we thought we'd set up a poll so that people who haven't visited the HMD could also give us their thoughts.

We'd like you to bear in mind that having biweekly app cycles would logistically change how the apps would be processed; with a double load of apps to bear, we'd be closing apps on Friday in order to give ourselves the whole weekend to process. Hence we'd have five days of open app submission followed by two days of judging, then seven days of closed submissions. Rinse and repeat.

View Poll: App cycles

It took longer than expected--it always does--but the machine now sits inside the new base, under heavy lock and key, behind as many barred doors as they could physically manage. The rest stand silently behind him, mildly awed as he works, and all Archer does is try to replicate the angry wire-pulling from last time. Miraculously, it works. The machine dies for a moment, then slowly, with a gentle hum of power, returns to life. He turns to Ariana and orders a full-scale Sleep Powder bomb over all the major cities. She goes.

The world shifts. The foreign visitors, the strange locales, the sudden, incomprehensible pokemon appearances--everything goes, along with every evidence of their presence. Time, though, time is more difficult for the machine. Three days is three days, and when people wake they'll find time has passed seemingly without them.

Fourth Wall is now over!
Thank you for participating, everyone!

Pokegears and clocks will register the proper time and date. The regular background music returns, and everything is once again back to normal--for a relative value of 'normal', that is. You may find yourself waking up somewhere you didn't go to bed in. A different building, a different city, a different region, or even out in the wilderness. Any pokemon caught or new friends met during the event will not be present or remembered.

You may continue to backtag 4th Wall posts at your leisure! Again, thank you!

[[ Mod note: Apologies for the delay, my internet failed half an hour before the end of Fourth Wall and only just returned. ]]

Besides, every time they tamper with it, there's this niggling worry that everything'll collapse in a very bad way, and as much as Archer enjoys a little controlled chaos personally, he knows where his best interests lie.

Two Machoke carry it, quiet and obedient. A Rotom hovers overhead, keeping the machine powered during transfer. He didn't dare leave this to fumbling human hands. The Machoke move with dead precision, not a single movement wasted, like living statues. Lovely, if a bit creepy, to watch. When he speaks to them, their heads turn towards him at the same time, and it hits the uncanny valley just so.

"Be gentle."

There's really no stressing it enough. They nod, once, expressions blank, and adjust their precious cargo for landing.

The helicopter touches down at 23:55 on a secret landing pad out on Route 35. No awkward questions from the city citizens, relatively quiet, and inexpensive: just the way he likes it. They just need to get off the damn vehicle and get this machine into the base, an hour's walk away, and Archer can expect four hours of well-deserved sleep tonight. The thought almost makes him salivate.

Of course, his luck doesn't hold. Why does it ever? It's almost sad, because he'd thought of everything and they were so close and it wasn't even his fault or an oversight, or anything!

The Rotom, focused on keeping its Discharge at neat and gentle levels, bumps into the top of the helicopter door as they exit. Surprised, it surges—

White light—

Archer's last thought is that next time, he'll leave this shit to Petrel instead.

The fourth wall begins now!
If you've got any questions, consult the mini-FAQ or go ahead and ask in the comments!

We're also using this post to track fourth wall threads!
Please put your character's name and series in the post (preferably in the subject line) with your link!

Ssssso yeah, I haven't really been around a whole lot lately.
Johto and Kanto will be sharing the same weather report unless otherwise stated!
Now then, you all get to experience my weather this month |D (Welcome to Upper Michigan, bros n gals).

THURSDAY [12/08]
Cold? You bet it is. The wind is causing most of the chills, coming in from the north.
High: 20ºF/-6ºC. Low: 14ºF/-10ºC.

FRIDAY [12/09]
Augh, WIND. YOU ARE NOT HELPING, JERK. Also, light snowfall is scheduled later in the evening and continuing through the night.
High: 23ºF/-5ºC. Low: 12ºF/-11ºC.

SATURDAY [12/10]
And it is still snowing, but it’s still fairly light. Maybe two to three inches total (5cm to 7.5cm).
High: 21ºF/-6ºC. Low: 12ºF/-11ºC.

SUNDAY [12/11]
…. It’s still snowing :| At least the wind has died down, but everything feels so dry and freezing ugh. Stay indoors and not be cold, guys.
High: 19ºF/-7ºC. Low: 9ºF/-12ºC.

MONDAY [12/12]
I HATE YOU TOO, SNOW. GIT OUT. We’re up to six inches total (15cm). Get your shovels, who knows what will happen?
High: 22ºF/-5ºC. Low: 17ºF/-8ºC.

But sitting that close to almost freezing is making the snow much heavier than it’s been D: that four inches (10cm) seem like way more than it is. Good thing you got your shovels, right? Jeez…
High: 31ºF/0ºC. Low: 24ºF/-4ºC.

Low: 9ºF/-14ºC.

Peaceful and sunny, it cools off way too quickly in the evening though.
High: 35ºF/2ºC. Low: 14ºF/-10ºC.

FRIDAY [12/16]
Yaaaaayyyyyyyyyy sunlight!
High: 38ºF/3ºC. Low: 26ºF/-3ºC.

SUNDAY [12/18]
So many tears, it’s snowing again.
High: 19ºF/-7ºC. Low: 13ºF/-11ºC.

MONDAY [12/19]
Total amount of snow by this time is… one foot and three inches (37.5cm).

WEDNESDAY [12/21]
Hey wait, it’s getting close to Christmas! IT BETTER NOT BE DREARY DDD: It’s still darn cold, and dipping a little too close to way too cold to be outside.
High: 13ºF/-10ºC. Low: 8ºF/-13ºC.

Stay indoors, it’s cold enough to leave frostbite on your unprotected nose. Ice types are totally loving it though!
High: -2ºF/-19ºC. Low: -5ºF/-21ºC.

SATURDAY [12/24]
All the tears of my life, it’s Christmas Eve and still nasty cold outside, and now it’s snowing again… at least only uh, two inches (5cm).
High: 6ºF/-14ºC.

As you all know, due to the train plot, there was a bit of a delay in this, and for that we apologize. However, next weekend, on the 10th, 11th and 12th, we're proud to kick off Route 29's third...

4th WALL WEEKEND!

The event will take place from Saturday, Dec 10th through Monday, Dec 12.

Note: Due to the Fourth Wall event, apps will be delayed until Monday night.

Following the successful moving of all the Grunts from Mahogany to Goldenrod, the Team takes on the arduous task of moving the very last item from deepest catacombs of their Science division: the completely incomprehensible teleportation machine. Since they had so much luck last time they did this, they're trying to be a little more cautious the second time around. And it works!

Until they have to load it out of the helicopter. Delicate operation, you know. Anything could go wrong--and something did.

As usual, following the cue from a mod post, there will be a loud crack and a flash of white light in Johto. When your characters blink a few times, the scene before their eyes will return to normal... however... there will be a lot more people, or beings, in the cities, or along the routes, or even just trolling about on the PokéConnect.

Paths will be ridiculously easy to pass, or, if you want, ridiculously difficult. It can take as long or as little as you want it to in order to go from city to city, and you can check out whatever building you want. Hell, if your character is accidentally caught in the glitch, they may wake up in an unfamiliar place!

What's a fourth wall, you ask?
The Fourth Wall event is where people from other games, random characters, even players themselves, just randomly interact with your characters. It's a literal breaking of that invisible "fourth wall" that separates the game-verse from... the rest of the internet.

How do you participate?
In short, a character makes a post in their journal and others tag it. You could tag other entries if you don't want to make a post. You do not have to use just your character journal to tag; you can use characters from other games, crack accounts, player accounts, and the like, to interact with the character who made the post. We would like to request that you keep all fourth wall activities to your character journals and not the logs community because of the security settings on the logs community (however, feel free to log in your journals).

What kind of characters can participate?
Anything and everything, from AU versions to characters in-game or those from other games, ponies, disembodied heads, zombies, Arceus with a saddle, the players, Hello Kitty, and the list goes on... You can choose whether your character remembers the previous fourth wall or not.

Will my character remember the 4th wall?
Your character will not remember it as an actual event in-game. The Rockets are using a whole army of Hypnos in order to mindwipe all of the citizens of Johto. However, the event may still be remembered in bizarre, sometimes-vivid details, in the form of very wild and incoherent dreams.

As well as the three-day time difference. There's no explanation for that one. The Professors will just say everyone fell asleep, again. Feel free to not believe that. To make it worse, you may not be where you were last... feel free to remain where you traveled during the incident, or anywhere else...

What about people coming in, can they have a pokémon too?
Sure thing! You can bring in any pokémon from any generation and challenge whoever you want for however much you want. Feel free to knock down or burn down anything. Current players are also allowed to have whatever else they want in their party, but your party will return to what you had in-game after the event.

What if I don't want to participate?
The fourth wall is not a required event. However, it does affect the game's setting, so logging would have to be backdated or forward-dated to before or after the fourth wall. Please keep in mind that due to the size of the game, your posts may get lost in the event-related posts.

What if I just arrived and haven't made an in-character introduction post yet?
Feel free to arrive in the middle of the event! Your character will probably just be that much more confused. You may also hold off until after the event if you wish, in order to not become lost in the confusion.

Would my non-human character remain in their form for the event? What about powers?
Up to you! Your character can return to their original form, powers intact, or whatever you like! Have fun.

Can my character catch pokémon during the event?
Yes, they may. However, they won't be able to keep them. The game will be "reset" so that the three days didn't have any lasting effect.

Does this count for the activity check?
Yes. Yes, it does. :D

More of this Kanto Tomfoolery

Sorry guys, the gym leaders aren't out just yet (sorry to all of those I mistakenly told otherwise), because we'd like your input on how you'd want this run!

Many of you coming straight from Johto already have some pretty decent teams, so showing up at Kanto with your buffed up groups might not be as much fun for some of you if you're wiping out everyone from the get-go. So we've got some options on how you guys would like to battle for badges in Kanto.

Let's see if Stormy did the polls right...

View Poll: #1798360

Regular Team - this is basically starting afresh. You can take new pokémon, old pokémon, any pokémon that's under 100 and just have your way with the gym leaders. It's more of a "New Region, New Beginnings" kind of option.

Regular Team & Elite Team - this leaves the trainer with two options of matches: one's just a Regular Team, but the other is a battle of skill, your Level 100s vs the Gym Leader's Level 100s. With this, the player can choose to start with newer or lower-level pokémon, or start with the strongest ones.

Elite Team & Break the level 100 cap - Your powerhouse pokémon versus theirs, but the leveling won't stop at 100. So it's just a test of ridiculous amounts of skill and high levels.

Regular Team & Elite Team & Break the level 100 cap - a mixture of all three! Start at the beginning, or have your strongest versus their strongest that can go over level 100.

Other - if you've got any other suggestions, or if you choose any of the first options and still have input, please leave us a comment!

Thanks a bunch, guys!

A fresh start; [train plot epilogue]

11/23/11 18:49
We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming with this important news bulletin.

The woman on-screen looks polished and cool, but the scene behind her, the Saffron Train station, is total chaos. Evening is descending, and her neatly styled bob is periodically lit up with the red and blue of police lights. Under her, a scroll bar reads: MAGNET TRAIN HIJACKED, CURRENT MISSING POKEMON COUNT: 43.

"Hopes were high following a shareholder change that allowed for the completion of the Magnet Train renovation project. However, unexpected chaos arose today during its maiden voyage. The train was hijacked by the notorious Team Rocket about two hours into the trip; they went so far as to knock out the conductor to set up a bomb in the cab, threatening to blow the train off-track if passengers didn't hand over their pokémon."

The camera pans out to various images of people, young and old, being taken out in stretchers. A few crying faces, hands cradling empty pokéballs. Several Nurse Joys, all looking haggard, are accompanied by Chanseys and Blisseys to heal the poisoned.

"Luckily, some brave passengers were aboard, and most of the hijackers were apprehended or taken out. Many were injured, but no lives were lost—though many precious pokémon are now missing. While police here in Saffron work on taking in the captured Rockets, a concerted effort is being made on behalf of the Viridian and East Johto Police Headquarters, servicing New Bark and Cherrygrove, to find any pokémon lost in the Indigo Plateau. The Elite Four have generously volunteered their services, but this may delay the renovation in the battle halls and further push back the date at which they'll be accepting challengers."

A Jenny walks up to the newscaster's side, looking grim. The announcer politely hands her the microphone, which the police officer accepts with a nod.

"We currently have several Rocket members in custody, and are issuing warrants for several others--"

The image cuts to pictures and video showcasing several escaped Rockets, and some portraits and names. Over it, the Jenny's voice continues.

"If you have any information regarding these individuals, we ask for your cooperation in bringing them to justice. Our hotline is 1-800—"

Click. Darkness.

Ariana's eyes trail upwards from the remote control and settle somewhere around her boss' elbow, as if afraid of rising any higher. The silence hangs heavy in the room, and not one of them dares break it save for the dying hum of the enormous television. She can feel the heat rising off Archer, standing next to her, and it makes her tense. They could lose their jobs over this; they could lose more than that. It depends entirely on the whim of the man in front of them.

Certainly, this is what they'd wanted, but it's strange to find herself once again on a lower rung of the food chain.

His chair swivels, and they collectively hold their breaths. His mouth is a thin line, but neutral rather than disapproving. Just being under his scrutiny is overwhelming. Being in his presence feels like being in the middle of a roaring crowd. She wants to please him; they all do.

"Satisfactory," he declares, tossing the remote control to the desk with a clatter. "This will suit our purposes just fine."

They exhale.

"What next, sir?" Ariana dares, lifting her eyes.

"We wait," he informs her, letting his chin rest on twined fingers. "Count our gains. Train the new recruits. When the moment is right, we'll strike again. Patience is a virtue, as you well know."

"Yes, sir," they chorus.

"Good. Well done, and you are dismissed."

They turn and they march, like good Growlithes, his eyes burning into their backs. Ariana is both mournful and relieved to be out of the office.

And then Petrel opens his mouth.

"So that was a disaster, but it was a satisfactory disaster? Pardon me if I don't follow."

Proton rubs the bridge of his nose. "It wasn't meant to succeed. It was meant to be a red herring. Think, Petrel."

There is a pause, presumably while Petrel thinks. Anticipating that this may take a while, Ariana pipes up.

"The mission had three purposes: first as a loyalty test, secondly to capture pokémon, and thirdly to waylay the population."

"It's that third one I'm having trouble with."

Archer materializes at her side, looking amused. He arches a brow. "Don't you see, Petrel? This way, we're hiding our biggest asset. We already own the train line."

[[OOC NOTES:
      - You may post IC reactions to the broadcast here.
      - If your character was caught/was sighted/defected from the Team/dropped out/etc, now is the start of their two weeks of police dodging/community service/jail time!

So in October I based the weather off what I was experiencing here, in southern Japan. This month, weather based on my hometown. Enjoy!

YOUR WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE REST OF NOVEMBER IS:

FRIDAY [11/11]
It really has been getting nippy, hasn't it? You got off easy during October, Johto, now it's time to bust out the scarves and heavy jackets!
High: 32ºF/0ºC. Low: 28ºF/-2ºC.

SATURDAY [11/12]
Still kind of overcast; there seems to be a strong north wind coming down the mountains.
High: 28ºF/-2ºC. Low: 20ºF/-7ºC.

SUNDAY [11/13]
Woops, false alarm! The sun is out.
High: 28ºF/-2ºC. Low: 20ºF/-7ºC.

MONDAY [11/14]
Or not...?
High: 34ºF/1ºC. Low: 29ºF/-2ºC.

TUESDAY [11/15]
No wait, it's--
High: 35ºF/2ºC. Low: 25ºF/-4ºC.

WEDNESDAY [11/16]
--just make up your mind, Johto.
High: 32ºF/0ºC. Low: 28ºF/-2ºC.

THURSDAY [11/17]
...oh gods, I didn't mean it like that!
High: 11ºF/-12ºC. Low: 9ºF/-14ºC.

FRIDAY [11/18]
Heavy jackets? Might wanna grab the snow pants you stashed away last year.
High: 11ºF/-12ºC. Low: 9ºF/-14ºC.

SATURDAY [11/19]
And here we go in earnest. Most of the snow came in through the night, though—which means Johto will wake up to a gorgeous layer of powdery frosting. It's still falling, but it's pretty light.
High: 11ºF/-12ºC. Low: 9ºF/-14ºC.

SUNDAY [11/20]
It's picking up! Howling winds and dark clouds, oh my!
High: 14ºF/-10ºC. Low: 10ºF/-12ºC.

MONDAY [11/21]
The worst of the storm seems to have passed over...for now. Still falling, but not nearly as bad as yesterday. A huge herd of Mamoswine and Piloswine, even cute baby Swinub came down from the north following the blizzard. They can even be seen as far south as Violet, but they won't be around long—so Rockets, now that you've been debriefed, why don't you show the bosses what you've got?
High: 29ºF/-2ºC. Low: 14ºF/-10ºC.

TUESDAY [11/22]
Final verdict: four feet of snow. It'll probably melt soon, anyway...right? The herd has turned back towards the mountains.
High: 22ºF/-5.5ºC. Low: 17ºF/-8ºC.

WEDNESDAY [11/23]
Crisp, clear and bright, the sun glinting off the new powder. Cold as Articuno's beak, though. A good day as any for a little adventure!
High: 11ºF/-12ºC. Low: 5ºF/-15ºC.

THURSDDAY [11/24]
Oh, it's warming up a bit! In the bay of Olivine, a pod of Lapras has appeared. They're very friendly; one might even follow you home!
High: 35ºF/2ºC. Low: 25ºF/-4ºC.

FRIDAY [11/25]
It's holding steady! The spotty cloud cover actually seems to be doing good in regards to the temperature.
High: 40ºF/4ºC. Low: 28ºF/-2ºC.

SATURDAY [11/26]
Won't be long until December. Still sunny, but the snow looks like it's sticking around, even if it's tapered off a bit.
High: 40ºF/4ºC. Low: 25ºF/-4ºC.

SUNDAY [11/27]
Woops, a cold front! The slightly-melted top layer of snow froze again like crispy breading hiding its powdery insides. Careful where you step!
High: 23ºF/-5ºC. Low: 19ºF/-7ºC.

MONDAY [11/28]
So, the million-dollar question: how optimistic should you be?
High: 32ºF/0ºC. Low: 27ºF/-3ºC.

TUESDAY [11/29]
I mean, it is Johto weather. It's practically a hostile creature unto itself.
High: 32ºF/0ºC. Low: 28ºF/-2ºC.

WEDNESDAY [11/30]
Still, you can hope, right?
High: 32ºF/0ºC. Low: 28ºF/-2ºC.
