                        About Adapter Arabic

Adapter is built for contemporary modernist aesthetics expressed by two logics. It oscillates between two personalities to fit your needs. The designer of the Arabic, Borna Izadpanah, brings this same double-bill of service to Arabic, Persian, and more with Adapter Arabic.

On one hand, modernist sans serifs or neo-grotesques are an unobtrusive, basic, or even default choice for continuous texts. On the other, they may be selected to make a strong stylistic statement in posters, magazines, or book covers — exhibiting minimalism or unaesthetics. To fit these different objectives, Adapter needed different shapes.

Adapter Text acts as if it were designed by a typographer who cares mostly about ergonomics, ease of reading, and an even rhythm. The straighter baseline, generous spacing, overall openness, and clearer letter constructions all lend themselves well to low resolutions, honouring the reading experience.

Adapter Display looks like it was designed by an architect — a lover of impact, symmetry, alignment, and black colour. Its round shapes are more fluid than Adapter Text and its letterforms more dynamic. It remains casually uninvolved, but it has personality. It is tightly spaced for a striking impression in headlines. Targeting display sizes permits it a wider range of usable weights.

Adapter Arabic is also available as a single, lightweight variable font, packing the whole range of weights, the size-specific Display and Text variants, and even italics into a single, feather-light file.

The Adapter World collection currently supports Arabic, Cyrillic, Georgian, Greek, Hebrew, Latin, and Tamil and is determined to grow. These simple, flexible solutions to communicate globally are developed in collaboration with respected script experts to stay authentic and faithful to local preferences.
