Work at Height Regulations

The regulations apply to all work at height where the risk of fall is liable to cause personal injury. They place duties on employers, the self-employed, and any person that controls the work of others (i.e. facilities managers or building owners who may contact others to work at height).

The regulations include schedules giving requirements for existing places of work and means of access for work at height, collective fall arrest (e.g. nets, airbags etc), collective fall prevention ( e.g. guardrails, and working platforms), personal fall protection (e.g. work restraints, fall arrest and roped access) and ladders.

Case Studies

Slip Resistant Roof Walkways – Premiership Football Club, London

Following the successful completion of gutter lining works our client requested a safe means of access for future cleaning and inspection work.

After careful consideration, a purpose made slip-resistant aluminum/uPVC composite walkway with steps and fall restraint stainless steel safety line system was designed, installed and certified to allow future personnel access. Since the original installation we have returned to site annually to re-certify the safety line system and clean our gutter liner to ensure optimum performance.
