Service for Kaiserdad

Am posting this here as I realise not everyone on LJ who knows kaiserdad is also on his FB

It has also dawned on me I never posted it on his LJ direct, I need to find his password and do a final post there

This is the info for the webcast of the service today

The service will be streamed live, and then hopefully be available for later viewing within one to two hours, using the same login credentials.

It's always in the nature of things that not everyone can be available at one time - particularly when a circle of friends is spread across as many time zones as Roy's - so this should hopefully make it possible for as many people to see the service as possible.watching the live broadcast

the red columns on the left side of the home page find the connection to Service Broadcasts and click

a list of the entire crematoriums will appear; scroll down to find Sheffield Grenoside Crematorium - click on

web cast access will appear...click on

you will be asked for a:- user name: 10857
password: mbapqwty

you will then have access to the live service. Please give a few minutes to appear on the screen

it would be better to access the web cast a good 5 minutes early

the funeral director suggests that people log on in advance and bookmark the site

The crematorium and webcast provider have confirmed that it will be possible to access the webcast for up to one week from the time of the funeral.

Kaiserdad

I can finally give you all the dates and times of the funeral.

It will be on Thursday 13th June at 1:15 pm at Grenoside Crematorium, at Grenoside in north Sheffield. There will also be a webcast for people who can't attend, I'll let you know how to get onto it as soon as we find out.

Afterwards we'll go back to Eric Eyre's on Mortomley Lane in High Green, Sheffield S35 3HR for something to eat and chance to chat and look at some of the things we have found that celebrate Roy's life. We will be asking people to write memories of Roy while they are there.

In the evening we plan to gather at The Commerical on Station Road in Chapeltown (where many of you may have been in the past) to continue celebrating Roy's life so that people who can't get during the day can come and join us too.

We are asking that people come dressed in colours to show celebration of Roy's life. We understand some people may find this difficult but please wear something even if it's a ribbon or similar to join in.

Kaiserdad

This is a hard post to write, I'm sorry to have to tell you all that kaiserdad died last night.

His sisters came up on Saturday to see him and Rhoda was able to stay (his brother in law's funeral was this morning so Ann had to go). We sat with him into the evening and Rhoda stayed right till the end. The hospital cared for him and made him comfortable and were really supportive, helping both of us when she called me back to be with her.

We won't know any more until Wednesday when I will post again to update you. I do want to add that Roy was happy to hear of your messages and sent his love to you all. You have all helped make this time while he was ill more barable and he really appreciated your care.

I'll update bia hid journal later or tomorrow so please don't be shocked to see the post, it'll mostly be the same as this I expect, I don't want to miss anyone.

10. My favourite pen is this one, I don't have one any more I think, it's a waterman and I loved it. It was just the right sizr for mr to use when I'm marking, I didn't get cramp. I miss it lots.

I go on the penny and tuppeny slots, I'm tight :)

The penny ones are usually the ancient ones where you need to buy an old penny to make them work.

The tuppeny ones are the old penny falls, I get a quid's worth of coins and work out of one pocket putting my winnings in another. I then switch pockets after counting up and start again. I do this till I run out. I usually stop then.

Dreams and Nightmares

This picture is something I have nightmares about.

I have specific dreams at certain points in my life. This is one I've 'inherited' off my Mum and is one I get when I haven't had enough time on my own. I may have mentioned it before This dream comes in many forms but always involves me trying to find a toilet and only being able to find them in public places.

This time I was in a fancy bar with crowds of people it had lots of wooden fixtures and a grand staircase leading up to a balcony where the toilets were. I queued up the stairs and eventually found the first loo was one of those holes in the ground with a small pair of saloon doors in front, not my idea of fun. The next also had saloon doors but was smashed into bits. there were others, broken in many ways eventually I found one that was whole, it was at the end and had a window as one side wall. The glass was frosted up to knee level and down to shoulder and was clear between. I could see everyone partying down below, and yes, they could see me. I tried to work out if I could hide behind my coat but decided it was impossible. I left and tried to find my way out, I somehow ended up balancing on a wall above a drop, now that was scary and finally, thankfully, it woke me up.

I've had a number of these dreams over the years. In one the loo I found was built into the wall by a bus stop, in another it was in a big room with glass walls covered by voile curtains. the problem there was they were blowing up and there was a line of people queuing up around the outside.

These dreams always happen when I haven't had enough time alone, I can stop them by spending some time on my own without interruption, not always easy when I'm at work but at least this time I had one on a Friday night. I managed some me time.

And this, well this just gives me the eebie-jeebies

I mat have made some mistakes as I went through all 6 pages and then clicked save, it only saved the 6th page so I gad to go back again, I must admit I was a little less careful that time.

re this post yesterday, I read it out to my colleagues at work, I don't open lj there but can see relies in my email. I'd only read my bit and The Tweenie apologised. She thinks it's set up on her web email link (she's got rid of it in the staffroom). It was standard fare in her last two offices.

I wasn't getting at her, she seldom does it now, I said sorry for making her feel guilty.

what does it actually mean? You can't have Kind regards surely, you could regard someone in a kindly way I guess you could send someone kind regards via someone else. But to say it direct just doesn't make sense.

Go back to sincerely, if you are sincere when yopu snipe at me that's fine, because that's you.

It's like saying

I don't want to be mean but... beause you always are following that
or

I don't want to be rude but... because you are about to be

can you tell it gets up my nose?

It's wishywashy and lazy.

I guess you could almost use it to a stranger when you are sending mild condolences or some other wet type situation but please I don't care what the policy of your place is, it's just horrid, find a nicer way to end your letters or emails

Please, I'm begging you, find something else to say

It's great, fun like usual but they stuffed it up. Peter Kay is in it this year but in the bit where he dances why did they have to fake it? It'd have been lots better with him doing it. It's badly done, and really spoils the whole thing. I know it's only an advert but I bet they spent loads on it and they blew it

It depends which room they're in.

Kitchen - just a couple of small cookbooks, so I read to cook
Bathroom - there's a good chance of finding one by my bath, it'll be open as I'll have just read it
Attic - an odd mixture of reference books on all subjects and a bookshelf of fantasy books
Office - craft and Christian books, research, travel and gardening books, lots of crme and science fiction and a few more fantasy books
Stairs - kids books, from board books to teenage books some anything written from 20 years ago up to 100 years old
My Room - the books I haven't read, a mixture of the newest of all the others
Back Room - no books (well other than those in my bag)
Front room - one wall, floor to ceiling covered with books, usually producing one of two comments "have you really read them all?" and "wow books, do you read." In this room there are books over 100 years old through to stuff published last month; crime books, romance, hystorical, childrens, science fiction, alternate reality, steam punk, ballet books, you name it and yes I have read them all, except that one, I'm reading that next!

So what does it say about me? That I read a lot obviously!

Writer's Block: Boldly going

Now this is one for me. If I was sure this was a safe visit and I'd definitely come back I'd visit Stephanie Plum in the Burg, mainly to meet Morelli and Ranger ;) Then on to Eureka for a look round and through to Haven (which I've seen some of) and then on to Cabot Cove Maine (see why I want safety as a proviso?)

Then I'd go back in time to visit Falco in Rome, followed by a quick trip via Shrewsbury to meet Cadfael and then on to London to meet His Grace of Avon, his wife Leonie, Son Doninic and his wife Mary, possibly pop in on Freddie and Kit Standen on our wayforward in time to visit Lord and Lady Peter Wimsey and have afternoon tea with Jeeves and Wooster.

Then I'd flip out of this world over to the Discworld where I'd love to meet the Witches, Rincewind and some of the other Wizards, The Patrician, Sam Vimes, in fact just let me visit there for a long while so I can get round and see everything.

ETA Tardis would be the best way to travel
