Nowhere else in Spain do so many Blue Flags fly on the beaches as in the Valencia region. Keeping up its reputation of excellent beaches, the Costa Blanca once again reaps in a host of Blue Flag Beach awards with the Costa Blanca getting the award 91 times in 2022 - yet surprisingly, also losing two blue flags on popular beaches.
The Costa Blanca not only has beautiful beaches, but also safe ones: the Valencia region will receive 139 Blue Flags in 2022, more than any other region in Spain. 21.7 percent of all Banderas Azules in Spain now blow on the Valencian coast. 74 of the flags alone go to beaches on the Costa Blanca, 17 more to ports. This makes Alicante the Spanish province with the most awards, while four Valencian beaches get the quality flag for the first time, two of them on the Costa Blanca.
