No curves

1. Start off with THIS picture from Gettyimages. Crop it to your liking, sharpen, soften, whatever floats your boat.

2. Duplicate your base three times. Starting from the TOP layer: Soft Light, Soft Light, Screen. This may vary on the lighting of your image.

3. New raster layer. Floodfill with #ec809e at Overlay 71%.

4. New raster layer. Floodfill with #0f5d5f at Exclusion 40%.

5. New raster layer. Floodfill with #bcca98 at Multiply 61%

6. Duplicate base and bring to top. Set to Soft Light.

7. New raster layer. Floodfill with #a41512 at Lighten 14%.

And your finished!

Chyeahh. Tutorial tiiime.

Go from to

Mkayyy. Let's get the party started, shall we?

Our base. Crop, resize, sharpen, soften, etc. Do whatever you like to make your base look pretty. xD

So, my base is a wee bit dark. So, I duplicated my base and set it to Screen 100%

I love adding soft light layers. I think it gives the base more texture and depth. So, I duplicated the Screen layer and set it to Soft Light 100%.

Alas, the infamous exclusion layer. I, personally, always add one. This time I used #0c1838 Exclusion at 73%

Then, I made a new raster layer and floodfilled it with #bbebeb Burn at 71%

My new favorite coloring is adding a ruby-red lighten layer. I think it brings out the colors beautifully without darkening it. I used #4e211a Lighten at 67%

Lastly, I added a Color Balance layer. Layers - New Adjustment Layer - Color Balance. My settings were:

Cyan-Red = 14
Magenta-Green = 6
Yellow-Blue = -19

Make sure Midtones and Preserver Luminance are checked.

And you're done! Add or remove anything. I'd love to see what you made.

Go from this to

In ten steps.

1. Start off with this image. Crop it to your liking. As it is a Harry Potter screencap, it is incredibly dark. Duplicate it and set it to screen however light you want it to be. Duplicate it again and set it to soft light. Drag that layer to the top. I also like to add a multiply layer, but you don't have to do that.
2. Flatten image
3. Go to Layers - New Adjustment Layer - Brightness and Contrast. Set them both to five.
4. Flatten image
5. Make a new raster layer and fill it with #b9f8f7 and set it to Burn 14.
6. Duplicate that layer and set it at Burn 36.
7. Make a new raster and fill it with #06091e. Set it to Exclusion at 44 and then duplicate that. Set it at 48 Exclusion.
8. Make a new raster and fill it with #f795cc. Set it to Soft Light 79. Duplicate that and set it at Burn 34.
9. Make just one more raster and fill it with #da9426. Set it at Soft Light 100. Duplicate it and set it at Soft Light 38.
10. Duplicate the Exclusion layer in step 7 and drag it to the top. Set it at 48.

And you're done! I'd love to see what you made.

I thought I'd do another tut. It's funnn.

We'll be going from this to Made in PSPX

1. Prep your base. I cropped mine 300 x 300 and then resized. I then used Unsharp Mask at: Radius: 9 Strength: 20 Clipping: 90. Sharpen, soften, all that jazz. Do with it what you will.
2. Duplicate your base twice. Set the first layer(the one closest to the base) to 100 opacity and the second to 50 opacity.
3. Make a new rater layer. Floodfill it with #e38f60 at Soft Light 90
4. Make another raster. Floodfill it with #edb3e3 at Burn 59
5. Take this light texture by sanami276, I believe. Set the layer to Screen, and move it where ever you please. I moved it to the top left corner.
6. Click on the text icon and write "Potter" in the original Harry Potter text. It can be found at dafont. Place it where ever you like. I put it onto the light texture.
7. Put a little tiny text below it if you like. This step is just optional.

And you're done!

Have fun with it. Change anything you like. Comment and show me what you made!

This is my first icon tut ever. I hope you like it.

We're going from:
to

1. Crop, resize, sharpen, soften, whatever floats your boat.
2. Make a new layer and floofill it with a dark blue(#262f48). Exclusion 100
3. Make another layer and floodfill it with a light pink(#f2c8e4). Burn 100
4. Make another layer and foolfill with a sky blue color(#7dd2ef). Burn 63.

Your image should look similar to this:

You can stop here if you like, but I want to go a bit further.

5. Take this border: by unknown. If it is in fact yours, I credit you. Please comment so I will know. Mirror it and paste it onto the image as screen.
6. Then, take this light texture: by myraises. Paste it onto the image as screen.

And you're done! Mess around with it, have fun. I'd love to see what you made. Crits, flames, anything of the sort are welcome. I only just started making graphics around November-ish of last year. I can use all the help I can get. *wink*
