Yesterday I hosted my second movie club meet up. My goal with movie club has always been simple: get together with people that I love and talk about a great movie. Ideally we have some laughs, spark some good convos, even better if you make a new friend.
September movie club achieved all of that!!
Center Stage has it all: a bad boy on a motorcycle, an evil mother, eating disorders, TWO love triangles, a college boyfriend, Mandy Moore on the soundtrack, NO SMART PHONES, and soooooo much dancing! It’s perfect!!

A refresher on the rules:
Everyone comes to movie club having watched the movie and ready to discuss it!
Everyone was encouraged to come with discussion questions that they want to bring to the table, but it’s not required. I provide all of the meet-up materials.
The Big 3: For each movie that we watch we will decide if it’s in the lead actor’s Big 3. Their “Big 3” is defined by their 3 biggest/ most recognizable movies of their career. For example: Margot Robbie’s Big 3 would probably be: Barbie, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. (Or maybe she’s better known for Suicide Squad?? These are the discussions you want to be sparking!)
This question didn’t make sense for Center Stage because 90% of the actors haven’t really been in anything.
Group Rating: Everyone gives their overall rating of the movie from 1-5, 5 being the highest. We count to three and everyone holds up their vote with their fingers. Whatever the average is from those votes, that becomes the definitive Movie Club Rating of that movie!
