About

GUDP – Grønt Udviklings- & Demonstrationsprogram, in English, Green Development and Demonstration Program supports green and innovative projects across the Danish food sector. The projects are expected to develop and/or demonstrate new ways of thinking about business within the food industry through a dynamic cooperation between green and economic sustainability. Hence, the projects are oriented towards the green transition of the economy. The initiative is organised by the Danish Agriculture Agency (Landbrugsstyrelsen).
In December last year, Rockstart was announced to be one of the recipients of the Danish Government’s allocated DKK 169.5 million GUDP grant, alongside 23 other new green projects fueling sustainability. Rockstart will use the allocated 1.840.873 DKK sum to create the Biochar Network, bringing together key stakeholders in the ecosystem for collaboration and working together towards a sustainable future.
We are looking to bring together all stakeholders and players involved in or interested in the Danish biochar system. When registering for the network, pick which stakeholder type applies to you and let us know your involvement in Biochar – that’s it!

The Biochar Network offers a dynamic mix of online content, networking opportunities, and in-person events. We’ll host both virtual and in-person gatherings, with all in-person events taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Here’s what’s coming up:

  • Kick-off Event – May 27th
  • Forward Event – November 25th
  • Quarterly Online Events to keep the conversation going year-round

Beyond events, we provide an online community channel to help you connect with key stakeholders — so you can engage, collaborate, and stay informed anytime, anywhere.

No problem! The Biochar Network is open to participants worldwide as long as you have an interest in the Danish biochar market. We’re building a diverse, international community passionate about biochar, sustainability, and impact.

GUDP (Grønt Udviklings- & Demonstrationsprogram), or the Green Development and Demonstration Program, supports innovative, sustainable projects across Denmark’s food sector. These projects focus on combining green solutions with economic sustainability to drive the green transition. The initiative is managed by the Danish Agriculture Agency (Landbrugsstyrelsen).

In 2025, the Danish government allocated DKK 169.5 million to GUDP grants, funding 24 new sustainability projects. Rockstart was one of the recipients, securing DKK 1,840,873 to launch the Biochar Network—a platform that connects key stakeholders to collaborate, innovate, and shape a more sustainable future.
