i'll follow you into the light
(Perhaps not the most cheerful song for the day, but it's what's in my head. I will note that Carla Lother is one of the few things on my interest list here in LJ-Land that is unmatched.)
Despite driving a needle through the side of my shoe and into my foot this morning, I have cheered up today. It may be that I still fit into one of last year's warm-weather dresses, or the sunlight
(. . .and now I've got "Sara Smile" playing in my head, and the memory of standing in the park on Sunday, holding Soren's hand, both of us softly searching for harmonies on the chorus; He finds the high harmony on that song; I reach for lower ones, and our soft voices wrap around each other. . .)
-- or perhaps the knowledge that people will come out tonight to hang out, drink, eat chocolate, and talk, including some people I've not seen in far too long, and at least one I've never met in real time.
I am also, as usual, amused by the fact that one of my coworkers, for four years, has called me "Vello," and addresses all handwritten notes to me that way. He knows what my name is (I know his full name, too), but got into the habit early; I think it's odd, but amusing
