cooking adventures: potato salad
small red potatoes, diced (1.25 lbs., maybe) hard-boiled eggs, mushed (6) scallions, sliced (8) celery, diced (4 stalks) dill pickles, diced (a quarter to a third cup, perhaps) peas (1 cup) mayonnaise (2 healthy blobs) dill pickle juice (a tablespoon, perhaps) sweet paprika garlic powder fresh crushed black pepper
I'm too close to it to tell what it needs, having just made it. Jane says it's good, but perhaps something like lemon juice or a splash of vinegar or more dill pickle juice to make it tangier. Soren likes it, but suggests bacon. Firmer potatoes would be better, I think; these were close to creamers.
Ah, well... they'll have to suffer through my experimenting with the recipe a few more times, I guess. They are patient with my cooking experiments, which is a virtue.
