I did not make it to the semi-finals in the Chorus Idol competition, which does not surprise me. A friend processed the video and will send me the link shortly; if I'm feeling brave, and I like the quality, I'll post it here. Not surprising, though: even the night they taped me, there were three other people who were much better singers than I was being taped as well. Still, I'm glad I got the nerve to do it (and I've been offered tickets to the big concert on 22 June, so we will go as a family).

For various reasons, we're all feeling a little frazzled in the household. Skippy had his annual checkup, and all of his monkeys are having different sorts of weirdnesses, from possible allergic reactions to, well, excessive flatulence (if I can't digest dried mango dusted with chili powder anymore, I am going to pout and sulk like you would not believe). On the other hand, there was sunlight today, and yesterday's rain didn't wilt all the irises.

Last night, I popped into The Dubliner briefly for karaoke, and sang "Don't Know Why" and "One Night in Bangkok." Charles and Gonzo were having an 80s song duel, which included Alphaville, and Depeche Mode, if memory serves. I was going to go for "Ordinary World," if I stayed around long enough, but decided to fade early. (I think that's an 80s Duran Duran song, but I really should check. I'm better on remembering 70s songs than the ones from the MTV era... although I could have done an Asia song, I daresay. Hmmm... must put lists together for theme nights, particularly as Gonzo has promised an 80s theme night soon. I might need a floofy poet shirt.)
