early morning dreams come true
Well, we worked out late last night, and managed to do both the weights and the cardio -- though not as much of the cardio as we would have liked. Still, this morning I feel oxygenated and cheerful, and the nervousness with which I am approaching tonight's meeting and conversation is interwoven with the sense that all shall be well. And I note that I do not ache as much as I did the last time. (Of course, a lovely cool-down with the esteemed Mister deSelby did much to relax my muscles afterwards.)
A bit of clarity that's come up in comments to my post about being judgemental: I have no problem with being judged. (Aside: I was judged and found wanting so often as a child that I'm accustomed to both those sensations -- it's being judged and found good and worthy that still faintly weirds me out.) Of the few wise things Ayn Rand wrote, I consider "Judge, and be prepared to be judged" one of them.
What irritates, angers, and ultimately disgusts me (in extreme cases) is when someone has no qualms about judging others, but if an other's judgement doesn't match theirs, responds with "Why are you/do you have to be so judgemental?" with the implicit message: "I have the right to judge, but you don't."
(Digression: do people read comment chains in their friends lists? I do, or at least skim them, if the original post piques my curiosity, or if I notice a longish (8 or more) comment chain following. It's also how I sometimes find cool people to either add to my friends list, or to follow. [Somewhen soon, another set of posts on "friends" lists may appear here.])
