rhetorical question to an "extremely happy person"

Why, pray tell are you taking time away from that happiness to inform me that you are still shallow, insecure, self-absorbed and desperate for approval?

It came up, because someone apparently feels that a tacit agreement to get out of each other's lives no longer holds. But if they're so happy, why does something said seven months ago, about a now-dead issue, matter?

And how much do I care, now?
