“I Un-Remember” Tanka 6263

(November 24, 2023)

I unremember

november twenty-four, or,

next month’s “biggie”

stores closed: no bread crumbs be-had

I say: use potato chips,”

*(Coarse crushed and diminish the salt content of the recipe – this was before the advent of No Salt chips…but they still smell salty to my fingers and lips, say I. Alas, not pepperidge farms or what it was Mom wanted to use but I think Storm took the canister down to his favorite fish lake and chummed for minnows, and, having caught enough for his purposes, fed the rest to the chum-mies. Mom tried my suggestion, decreased the salt and Dad pronounce “fit to eat”. She came by my regular trough with all the serving dishes arranged in a half-moon by my modes – to 14-year-old me at lest – plate, squeezed a free arm and sotto voced “Thanks, J which made my day. I’s now a cook, too.)

And damn hungry dogs they be

Used to be “they” said Picture Your Audience Naked (or in their underwear) but for real affect. picture you naked before a pack of hungry dogs…
