While many organizations have strong IT capabilities, this large-scale data center project required advanced expertise in electrical infrastructure. REV was brought in to deliver the specialized solutions needed to bring the project to life.

The scope involved powering thousands of high-density servers dedicated to bitcoin mining, which created exceptionally high energy demands. A key challenge was working with the City of Medicine Hat to distribute power effectively across 56 block boxes, each housing high-performance servers. To address this, REV’s engineering team designed, built, and implemented custom switchgear and transformer distribution skids capable of supporting the substantial electrical loads.

The most pressing challenge was time. Despite the massive scale of the project, it needed to be completed within a short timeframe. Adding to the challenge, the design was new, applied within a rapidly emerging industry, and carried a high level of complexity where many previous attempts had fallen short.

Through technical excellence, innovation, and coordinated execution, REV successfully delivered the project in record time, meeting every milestone. This achievement reflects REV’s ability to deliver reliable, large-scale electrical solutions under demanding conditions and demonstrates the strength of the team’s expertise and commitment.
