CT Replacement

Kettles Hill is a wind farm located along the Foothills of Pincher Creek. As a farm set up for growth, REV was thrilled to have been awarded a project with the wind farm to replace its CT’s.

The Kettles Hill CT’s were found cracked during maintenance, where they were being tested to ensure that they would last another year. When the CT’s were found this way, the farm was shut down and the decision was made that all 26 CT’s were to be replaced. They were replaced with donut CT’s weighing up to 100lbs each, and were installed at a low temperature in order to avoid future cracking. After installation, the new CT’s were tested and recommissioned to the protective relays and meters.
