London 2012: the most popular athletes at the Olympics

For this visualization The Guardian, worked with the bitly data science team, and together they identified the 100 most popular athletes on the social web for each day during the 2012 Olympics. In the visualization they show the athelets’ popularity and their position on the ranking. By clicking on the bubble for a particular day the user can see why each athlete’s popularity change.
