Mexican drug trafficking in the US

A week after Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán, leader of the Sinaloa cartel, one of the world’s top drug trafficking organizations, was arrested The Guardian published a map visualization that shows US counties which have been designated as high-intensity drug trafficking areas. The visualization also allows the user to see which cartels dominate each area and what drugs they are trafficking.
