I've had a very rough couple of months, but I'm back, and I'm offering some great resources I've found to make creating your livejournal layouts easier. This post will be constantly edited, organized, and nicer. So add this to your memories or bookmark this post.

1. Stripe Generator. This is a nifty little tool you won't be able to get enough of. Be aware, you'll need photoshop to download your background. The Stripe Generator has practically everything you could want. Size. Spacing. Background color. Style. Straight lines. Diagonal lines.

2. Color Scheme Generator 2. This is exactly what the name implies: a color scheme generator. It is very useful, and it has an option to show "web safe colors" so that everyone can see your layout exactly as you do. You have lots of variations. You can choose, for example, if you want your green pale, pastel, contrast, etc. Different shades. (My favorites are the greens and warms colors under the pale variations.)

3. Inkscape. This is an open-source vector program. It is like Adobe Illustrator. And anyone, like me, who is broke - Inkscape is a great alternative to the monstrously expensivle Illustrator. This program uses the SVG file format, but it isn't chalked up with all the features that you know and love like from your other programs. But this is also free, and less than 40 megabytes. It is growing in features, but it can still perform all of your basic vector needs. So, for anyone that wants to include vector-art graphics for your lj, this is a good choice.

More resources are soon to come. I will work on all of them later, and I'll add onto this post.

3 Texture Sets

Hi. I know it's been a while, but I've been struck by the creative bug and I come with two new textures and a third that is older.

Stats.
1. 5 blue, halftone inspired textures.
2. 3 blue, start textures.
3. 8 dirty scratch textures.

Rules.
1. Credit. It doesn't matter where.
2. You can not manipulate these textures and redistribe as your own work.
3. Comment if you download any of the sets.

Sorry that the previews are all different sizes. I made them at different times and didn't think about using the same size preview images. Well, I hope you all enjoy. I am in the process of making a couple more sets. Have any texture requests? Ask and I'll see if it's something I can do.

I'm back in action with a lot of time on my hands. I want everyone to know that all bases are always untouched. All I do is crop the image. Everything else is up to you.

VM Icon Bases S01E01

Okay, so I'm back and I have something new to share. I'm starting this new experiment with Veronica Mars screencaps. I'm starting at the pilot episode and I'm going to be making 50-100 icon bases for each episode. It's probably crazy and way too ambitious, but I don't care. It's also a chance for me to work on my cropping skills and utilize everything that photoshop has to offer.

Icon Tutorial 001

Hi. This is my first tutorial featuring Kristen Bell.

We are going from this to this

Made with Adobe Photoshop CS2. Involves color balance and selective color.

1. The first and most important step is the crop your image. I start with a high quality image and then crop it down to about 150 by 150 pixels. Next, I open a new document at 100 by 100 pixels. Copy and paste the 150 by 150 icon onto the blank 100 by 100 canvas. Go to your tools and select the move tool. You can now drag the icon around until you get the nicest position. If it doesn't look right, change the 150 to something higher or lower and mess around.

Pulse Screencaps

I've finally got some screencaps up for the taking. Pulse. Oh how I adore Kristen and Ian together in this movie. I know, I know. The links are huge. But I capped the images using .png instead of .jpg so we don't have all that loss of quality and color once uploaded. Sorry. I hate working with anything that isn't .png.

Hi, this is my first post to my new community resourcedump.

I'll do pretty much anything. Screencap. Bases. Icons. Graphics. Textures. Brushes. For right now, I'm not doing any requests. This is just a place, so to speak, for me to dump all the resources I've made.
