Data Access
Data collected through the LEVANTE Framework is de-identified. LEVANTE currently does not hold any data regulated under HIPAA (US) or GDPR (EU). To learn more, please see our Ethics and Privacy page.
Downloading data
The best way to interact with LEVANTE data is through the rlevante R package, which can be found here: rlevante.
To install rlevante from github, run:
remotes::install_github("levante-framework/rlevante")rlevante can be used to download public data releases as well as (for LEVANTE sites or users) the data you collected.
Before downloading the data, you will need to follow the instructions below to gain permission to access the data.
Redivis
Permission to access the data is granted via Redivis, a data-sharing platform used for all LEVANTE datasets. Individuals seeking to access any LEVANTE data must create an account on Redivis.

Public data releases
Current data release
Our first data release (January 2026) is from the LEVANTE pilot data collection. The LEVANTE pilot data release (levante-data-pilots v1.1) contains cross-sectional data collected across three pilot sites: Bogota, Caquetá and Boyacá, Colombia (uniandes-co); Leipzig, Germany (mpieva-de); and London, Canada and the Greater Toronto area (western-ca). Data were collected from child participants 5 to 12 years of age, their caregivers, and their teachers. For more detailed information about each site and participant characteristics, please see our preprint entitled “Creation and validation of the LEVANTE core tasks.”
For a description of each site in the data release, see the following page:
How to access
Subsequent data releases
Data collected through the LEVANTE framework are intended to be publicly accessible for users who endorse the data use agreement. Data collected through LEVANTE will be publicly released a minimum of 6 months after data collection. We expect our next data release to be some time in Summer/Fall 2026.

Researchers at LEVANTE sites can access their own data through Redivis, our data-sharing platform. A designated team member (typically a Principal Investigator or lead research administrator) should create an account on Redivis. Next, the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) will grant that account access to the appropriate Redivis study (group of researchers with the same data access). The designated team member can then add other team members to the study as needed. Each researcher accessing the data must create a Redivis account and complete a data use agreement.
