Dr. Türkan Saylan Medical Awards
Prof. Dr. Nazmi Volkan Adsay and Prof. Dr. Önder Ergönül, from School of Medicine, have been honored with the Dr. Türkan Saylan Medical Science and Medical Service Awards, presented by the Istanbul Medical Chamber as part of the March 14 Medicine Day events. The Dr. Türkan Saylan Medical Science Award was presented to Prof. Dr. Nazmi Volkan Adsay in recognition of his internationally impactful research in cancer biology, particularly his contributions to the classification of pancreatic and biliary tract tumors and to a deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying cancer development. His work has expanded the scientific framework for tumor characterization and provides a critical knowledge base that informs clinical decision-making.
