Architecturally Distinct Solutions<\/a>\u00a0(ADS) is an award-winning provider of architectural services to private and public sector clients located in the City of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Kelowna is the 22nd largest city in Canada and sits on Okanagan Lake in the Okanagan Valley. The name Kelowna derives from an Okanagan (the indigenous peoples of the southern Interior Plateau region) language term for “grizzly bear”.<\/p>\n

ADS takes pride in its holistic approach to each project from initial renders to completion. Their dedication to the provision of thoughtful services ensures their clients experience exceptional service, peace of mind and their project delivered as a high quality product on schedule and on budget.<\/p>\n

Matt Johnston is Principal and President of Architecture for ADS. Passionate about work and play, Matt spends part of his winters at the nearby Big White ski resort where he has volunteered his time assisting skiers with disabilities as a member of the Powder Hounds. Matt has an artistic flare that serves him well at ADS, ensuring the sustainable design and consistent quality of each new structure they create. With over two decades of experience, Matt\u2019s influences include time spent at the Bauhaus in Dessau, Germany.<\/p>\n

Those look like some interesting projects, and it\u2019s great to see your renderings. What kind of feedback do you get from your clients?<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

Our clients are continuously impressed with the speed and quality of the work the office delivers, including the renderings which we are able to quickly generate from our schematic design drawings<\/p>\n

When did you start using\u00a0nXtRender for AutoCAD<\/a>\u00a0and why?<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

ADS has been using nXtRender (originally AccuRender) from the time it was included as part of the Architectural Desktop solution, approximately 15 years ago, and have continued to use it due to its seamless integration into the AutoCAD Architecture environment.<\/p>\n

What do you like about\u00a0nXtRender<\/a>?<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

Our team has enjoyed the integration with AutoCAD Architecture as well as the ability to combine third party objects, and easily map surfaces and apply texture and graphics in the nXtRender environment. Overall, the speed at which we are able to generate static images allows us to utilize materials options and rendering solutions as part of our design process without it being prohibitive from a timing perspective.<\/p>\n
