Remote Forward Deployed Engineer, Python

Description:

• Socket is seeking a high-performing Python focused Forward Deployed Engineer to act as the technical bridge between enterprise customers and engineering teams.
• The role involves combining software development expertise with exceptional customer skills to drive successful implementations, write custom code, and build the foundation for professional services.
• The engineer will ensure that the largest customers achieve maximum value from Socket's security platform while helping shape the future of technical services.
• This position is remote with 20-30% travel required for customer onsite engagements.
• Responsibilities include serving as the primary technical advisor for 5-8 enterprise accounts, writing custom code and scripts, leading technical onboarding sessions, developing custom security rules, coordinating technical rollouts, and maintaining relationships with customer engineering teams.
• The engineer will also create technical documentation, facilitate communication between customers and internal teams, conduct on-site technical engagements, optimize customer alert configurations, anticipate technical challenges, and support the development of professional services offerings.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of software development experience with strong coding skills in Python.
• A proven track record in building integrations, APIs, webhook implementations, and automation scripts in production environments is required.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills are necessary, along with a customer-first mindset.
• A strong understanding of modern development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices is essential.
• Knowledge of security tools, vulnerability management, and software composition analysis is preferred.
• Experience with open source ecosystems and supply chain security concepts is beneficial.
• Candidates should be comfortable with travel and on-site customer engagements.
• Experience with scripting and automation for DevOps or security use cases is also required.
