I'm Pip. This is Mystia.

She's in MS-3. She was here before during the spring and summer of last year, but went away to a vocal training camp that she bombed out of. She sings and likes music you wouldn't think a girl her age would like.

Her glasses are a new Thing, but some might remember her complaining about contact lenses being so difficult when she was around last year. She also wears bird-like costume parts with her non-uniform clothes, and walks around almost everywhere with noise-cancelling headphones on because crowds are pretty annoying.

She also totally doesn't crush on bad influences in her life. I don't know where you would ever get that idea.

Her new journal name is a bad pun because she... can't actually read (music, that is).

That's all I got, except her CR-making link is here in case we have any new players who want to say they knew her last year, or knew OF her. She doesn't have such a good reputation; or one at all, really.

I'd like to take the time to thank all of the players for sticking with Reims through our explosive start and rocky continued playing. I've been with this game since its inception and a mod from the beginning, but I've decided it's time for me to just be a player again.

So, I'm stepping down as a mod here at Reims. I'll still be here with Marisa, as she'll be here as long as possible, but it's time for me to give up the reins. Thank you all for the support you gave me as a mod, but it's time to just be this little hacking mischief maker.

-Sin

Major Announcement

Attention all players:

Reims Academy has reached it's six month of being open. Over the time, we mods have noticed many things, including the large number of drops and the very slow pace of the game. This has been a big concern for us and we've been brainstorming possible solutions to this. We have also noticed that those of you that have stuck with the slow pace, the lack of major events and the rapid loss of CR, are very dedicated to your characters and still enjoy the game. To balance the losses with the slow but steady current with our current players, we're instituting several game-wide changes. We think these changes will be for the better to help lighten load and instill some more enjoyment in the game, including the moderator team.

The format of Reims Academy will be changing. We are going to transition the game from a strict, formal AU game to a more semi-formal AU game. There are a few changes being done to facilitate this.

We are expanding the types of posts allowed on the main community. Before, the main community reimsacademy was to be only used for posts characters make on the school's Intranet. Now it can be used for cell phone conversations, emails between characters, flyers posted in the hallways/dorms, IC mmorpg chats, and even 'action spam' posts along with the standard Intranet posts. Basically, if it's not third-person prose or an event (LaSalle, Halloween Party, etc), it can go in the main community. reimsactivities will remain the community for logs.

We are going to revise the applications and application guidelines. To this end, we will be reducing our four types of applications to one standard application with sections only required for original characters and faculty characters. The new application will be simpler with less requirements to encourage new players to app into Reims. We are extending our heartfelt thanks to all of you who spent the time on your character applications under the current system.

Whereas we know the revised application will not require as much work as you all put in, we need to encourage new players and our current application system is too bulky for both players and the mods with the four separate application types. While some standards in the new application may be less than before, making it seem more like players are 'claiming' characters, we are still going to be very strict on AU Histories to ensure realism and on any subject with the potential to upset our players or make them feel uncomfortable. This game is not becoming a dressingroom where anything goes.

We are removing the limitation on faculty characters. Players may now have more than one faculty character if they choose and we will not be capping the number of faculty positions except for Guidance Counselor. We still have a limit of five Guidance Counselors and have no intention of changing that. We're also going to expand the electives available at Reims Academy. The core classes - History, English, Math and Science - are still required, so players are encouraged to have their faculty/teacher characters offer something else. We want common sense to prevail here. This is a middle/high school, so keep the course subject material age-appropriate.

We are transitioning from a Monthly Activity Check to a Trimester Activity Check. We will only do three activity checks a year, every four months - January 1st, May 1st, and September 1st. As we have extended the activity period from one month to four months, the requirements will change. Instead of one piece of activity per month, we will now require two pieces of activity per four months. One of these two pieces must be either an open post or open log that any character can interact in. We will not be accepting comments as valid activity for both pieces of activity. They will still count for one piece of activity, but not both.

Things that will not change.

The Rumor Board will be posted OOCly once a month by the mods if there are rumors to filter through the student body. We can only make so many up, so please submit rumors for us to post. We will continue to drop little setting tidbits and rumors from NPCs onto the Rumor Board, but please submit rumors.

The school's IC rules and setting will not change. Making the game more relaxed does not give players free reign to have their characters get away with anything they want. Rules are enforced by NPCs. We're not going to police you all over what your characters are doing, but please keep the rules in mind and everyone gets caught sooner or later. We still encourage game-wide player-run plots. Feel free to contact us regarding any you might have.

We will continue to have the Administration Approved Weekends to LaSalle. These occur during the second weekend of each month except when breaks interfere. Please use the communities calendar function to keep track of them. We mods will only post one open LaSalle log each activity period (only one of every four), but you are always welcome to post your own open or private logs for LaSalle during the weekends the students can visit the mainland.

The Academy's two big formal dances will be posted by the mods as planned. The two in question are the Winter Formal and Prom. The Winter Formal is coming up soon, so be on the lookout for announcements regarding it and start planning your character's attire.

The Intranet hacking ooc rules are not changing. Please don't make us unleash the rabid wombat.

As always the mods are available to answer questions. We hope these changes will increase the enjoyment of Reims Academy and keep this small game on the right tracks. Thank you for taking the time to read all this.

-Reims Moderators

I'm really, really sorry I hardly did anything with Robin (no one will probably miss her anyways since she didn't have much CR orz) especially since she's been at the school since around the time it opened.

Um uh drop story! Professor Clover found a school closer to his research facility so he's sending Robin there so they can stay in touch with each other more often. Since she didn't have any close friends at Reims, Robin will be leaving without a trace.

And yes, she will be taking her snake with her.

Thanks for everything, Reims. <3
Wow I feel bad about kind of doing this and not talking to everyone individually about dropping. But that'd kind of be like telling the whole game I'm dropping anyway? Plus what is feeling bad about letting people down.

But I kind of already decided a few weeks back that I'd drop after the Halloween Party. >: It really just boils down to that can't really think of much to do here anymore.

At least I came up with really elaborate drop stories? Hatate got sick of doing nothing to help other people so she took a huge chunk of her parents money, dropped out of school, and flew to a third world country to be a reporter and in general just to help out. I wish I was joking but this is kind of the direction she wanted to go in life anyway so she just kind of... went ahead and did it. She was disowned by her parents but it's all good because she's happy and she writes letters to her friends still in school! Sakuya, your cooking skills have come in handy because she's now feeding starving children with them. Be proud.

Yuki's story is a little less exaggerated. She started getting pretty homesick for japan so she flew home to go to a private school there instead of attending Reims.

I'm sticking around long enough to finish threads in the Halloween post but after that I'll remove the communities and everything. I had tons of fun, no regrets ever. Now I'm gonna go mope around and be sad about dropping because wow this is a bandaid drop.

Mod Announcement - Application & Reserve Changes

Hello all! I have here just a quick notice about policy changes:

-As you've probably noticed, the volume of incoming apps has decreased significantly since the game opened. After discussing the situation, we've decided to change from a set, weekly schedule of application acceptance to a "judge them as they come" system. This simply means that instead of having the weekend deadline, we'll be processing each app when it's submitted and responding to them as soon as possible. Hopefully this will just make everything more convenient for everyone.

-In addition, we'll be reworking the reserve system as well to reflect the above change. Instead of having reserves expire every Saturday when we do apps, reserves will now last one week from the posted day.

The FAQ and app pages will be edited shortly to reflect this change. Thank you for your time!

Hey Reims, guess who's back?

Yep.

For anyone not familiar with me already, my name is Mike. I was here before and am returning with the same exact character: Koakuma from that one PC game series where pixelated Skittles, Life Savers, and candy corn go flying everywhere and you have to do something about it that usually involves throwing even more Skittles, Life Savers, and candy corn back. Here at Reims, she is Patchouli Knowledge's adopted sister Corinne, a highly-distractable thirteen-year-old klutz in MS2 who runs a constant 50/50 chance of either tripping over her own shoelaces or pulling off silly childish pranks. Also books. Gotta have them books. And a decent laptop. In regards to internet-y things, her canon name serves as her handle.

And this time around, she will be rooming in South 213 with one Kuri Masachika.

Contact info, if needed, can be found here.

So yeah.
Hi there, everyone! I'm Manda, and I am FRESH MEAT to Reims here. Confession: I actually planning on apping this girl before the game... even opened... but things happened and it just didn't work out. BUT I AM HERE NOW AND THAT IS THE IMPORTANT PART.

Anyway, I'll be playing the titular character from the Haruhi Suzumiya series! Like her castmates, though, she's not from the original universe that most people are familiar with—she's from the AU manga The Vanishing of Nagato Yuki-chan, which is more of a For those who know the series, this Haruhi is very different from her OU counterpart! Long story short, she's still got her love of everything weird and supernatural, but she's miles nicer than her original incarnation. ALSO THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE SOS BRIGADE. (Yet.)

Iiin any case, Haruhi here is a second year high school student rooming in North 214 with Aya! Her history-making thread is here, and if you'd like to get to know me OOCly, my AIM is heir of breath, and my plurk is rainfell. ENOUGH OF ME BEING TL;DR, it's nice to meet you all, and I'm looking forward to playing here! ♥

As the game had opened in May, at the end of the IC school year, we had originally given the players of existing characters the option to either advance their character a grade upon the new year or retcon them back to the year they apped in as. Now that we're firmly into the current school year, we would like every player to post here with the year their character currently is in so we can update the student directory.

Please keep in mind when your character joined the game. If they joined in either August or September, they will be the same year they apped in as. Please list all your characters in this post.

Thank you.
