Sick and death-like in bed, but at least it's the week before classes start.

I've been entertaining myself with Kamen Rider of various flavors. The nice thing about my new flatmate is that she lets me moan miserably, curl up on the couch in the living room, and force-feed her Den-O episodes.

lazulisong wanted a retarded Den-O fusion with Loveless and it shows the terrible signs of becoming an actual fic if I ever stop feeling like moving will make my head explode; as anyone who knows me may have guessed, it goes along the lines of "how best can I thoroughly traumatize Yuuto, also, Ryou-chan with cat ears!"

Back to trying to kill myself with pillows, but first, tea! Thank god for tea.

I hate lazulisong. A LOT, okay.

It's not that Kagami thinks Tendou was born knowing how to fight, jumped straight from stubby little toddler legs to waiting for the Kabuto Zector (well, probably not), or anything like that. He knows that somewhere along the line, Tendou spent hours on endless hours going through forms, had bruises along the fine bones of his cheek, the edges of his arms from missed blocks and rough falls. He had to have someone to teach him, someone to bandage him up, and, strangest of all, someone with which to practice.

It's just that Kagami can't begin to imagine who.

All he knows about Tendou's family is that his parents were killed by the Worm, his grandmother is, well, the one with all those sayings, and Tendou will very calmly (or not so much) murder anyone who tries to hurt Juka or Hiyori. Sure, Tendou has followers, but they're not friends. Kagami can't imagine any of the giggling girls or awed-to-tears men as someone that would ever get to see Tendou as anything less than perfect, let alone the awkward stance of not knowing the exact form of a punch.

Kagami knows who Tendou selects to regularly beat on now, of course. And yeah, maybe beat on isn’t the right choice of words since he can pretty much hold his own, even if he’s never quite fighting with that absolutely serious edge that Tendou sometimes gets when he takes too long to learn something to Tendou’s satisfaction. Kagami’s pretty sure that most people don’t do their best to kill or possibly just permanently injure their friends in the name of hurrying them through crash courses in how to kill Worm or sneaky bastards when not fully covered in his (perfectly serviceable, thanks) rider gear.

The one time he mentioned it to Tendou, though, he’d had to deal with a sulk and none of Tendou’s cooking for a week.

So, yeah, Kagami’s pretty sure that Tendou is happy enough beating a lifetime’s worth of karate or judo or whatever the week’s regime is into him. Not like Kagami can picture Tendou torturing, say, Renge, or god forbid, making the trek out into the woods to see if Kageyama or Yaguruma would take time out from lamenting their tragic existence to step into the bright-lit confines of a dojo every now and then. They’d probably have to go huddle in a corner until someone dimmed the lights.

He doesn’t really mind, either, early mornings with the sun streaming in through the open windows, staining the mats in warm gold. Tendou kneels across from him, still and solemn, loose-limbed in the crisp white of his gi, and raises his head, meets Kagami’s eyes and slants what might be just the barest of smiles, a flicker and gone as they both rise to ready, the light limning the soft cloud of Tendou’s hair.

Sandy's eleven; she's old and she's had a good life.

I remember when she was a puppy, sitting in one of the shelves by the door, hiding behind one of Mom's tennis shoes with just her nose and eyes peeking out.

I remember when we first had Sharon's cats stay at our house and Gigi fell asleep on top of Sandy; their fur was the same golden-orange color and you could barely see the tiny ball of kitten.

She starts chemo tomorrow. I hate that I'm not there with her.

I could really use some cheer-up things now.

retarded tv show drabbles

Meg is a terrible, terrible enabler. :(

"Mmmf!" Masumi said, suddenly face down against the map table. He turned his head enough to see a red sleeve attached to the hand by his cheek.

"Akashi?" he asked, bewildered.

Chief slid a knee between Masumi's legs, knocked them further apart, and thumbed the button of his jeans. Masumi yelped, flailed a little, and utterly failed in twisting around to get a look at Chief's face.

"Akashi!" he squeaked, in an entirely different tone. That was Chief's hand in his pants.

"Don't listen to Yami no Yaiba. I trust you, Masumi."

"Guh," Masumi said.

The ground, thought Ryoutarou, was softer than it had been the last time he fell (the kitten had dashed right across the sidewalk and the rock that caught the front wheel of his bike was firmly wedged in a crack) down the stairs. He couldn't remember the ground being warm and breathing and moaning softly while it rubbed at its head--

"Ah!" Ryoutarou yelped, and tried to scramble off Yuuto's prone form, right into Deneb's large, helping metal hand.

He heard someone shouting, vaguely, through the daze of his brain resettling in his skull, and managed to turn his head so he wasn't breathing in t-shirt, mostly. For the strangest reason, it sounded like someone was yelling "Deneb, you broke him," but he wasn't sure through the ringing in his ears.

"I'm fine," Ryoutaro mumbled, and let Yuuto carefully tip him upright.

"Really," he said weakly to Yuuto's dubious expression, and went a little crosseyed tracking the finger waving in front of his nose. Ryoutaro mustered a wan smile when Deneb solicitously lifted him by the elbow and dusted the dirt from his clothes.

"Nogami, you really are unlucky," Yuuto started to say, and stopped with the oddest look on his face.

"No-ga-mi," Yuuto scowled, drawing out each syllable ominously, his voice rising, "where are your ears?"

a brief, not-so-shining moment of real life

So, some background, because I don't talk about real life much in this journal, I work at Express. A trendy clothing store. Yes, it was a shock to me, too, since fashion and Abby are more like moons that intersect in orbit a couple times every hundred years than anything I was remotely interested in.

However, that's not the point. What IS the point is that, as my first job in retail, I am now priveleged to be witness to just how much people can be complete fucktards.

In short, today sucked.

For the long(er) version, I now have a customer calling district management to file a complaint on me that I am racist because I (literally) failed to ask her if she had an Express credit card. That's her ONLY reason.

My coworker's ex-boyfriend called her today trying to blackmail her into getting back together with him. He threatened to break up her current relationship by telling her boyfriend the most idiotic, filthy lies about her. This woman is amazing. She works two jobs to support her kids as a single mother. Her ex-husband, who owes her tens of thousands in child support, was recently arrested for dealing drugs. And now this shit of a person is stalking her, following her to work, to her home, to her boyfriend's home. Making it impossible for her to sleep, to feel safe anywhere she goes.

I can't believe that so many people can be such miserable, petty assholes.
