How to go from.. to in Photoshop 6.0

1) Start off with your base. Don't do anything unless you feel the need to sharpen and such.

2) Duplicate the base (CTRL + J) and set it to SOFT LIGHT @ 100% opacity.

3) LAYER >> NEW FILL LAYER >> SOLID COLOR: #01160E. Set to EXCLUSION @ 100% opacity.

4) LAYER >> NEW FILL LAYER >> SOLID COLOR: #1F0101. Set to EXCLUSION @ 100% opacity.

5) LAYER >> NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER >> COLOR BALANCE:
Midtones:
+34, +4, +15
Shadows:
-9, -8, -7
Preserve luminosity is checked.

6) LAYER >> NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER >> CHANNEL MIXER:
Red
+182, -100, 0
Green
+12, +100, -26
Blue
+16, -30, +100

Set to SOFT LIGHT @ 40% opacity.

7) LAYER >> NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER >> LEVELS:
RGB
20, 1.68, 255

8) LAYER >> NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER >> GRADIENT MAP. Use the normal black and white one. Set to SCREEN @ 20% opacity.

9) Use this texture: by tearjerkericons. Set to SOFT LIGHT @ 100% opacity.

10) Duplicate the texture. Set to MULTIPLY @ 20% opacity.

NEW POST. I sincerely apologize for the disappearance. I don't know what happened, but that is no excuse. As of ~~whenever possible~~ soon, I will be making icons, textures, tutorials and the works of course. But, for now, I'll make a wishlist for myself so I don't blow this all up.

*I WISH FOR..

• Stay on elgay.
• Update on redlightrisque.
• Repierce my monroe.
• Get my cartilage pierced twice more, along with my right eyebrow, my belly button four times in the shape of a rhombus and/or my tongue.
• Tattoos (specifics: one on my left palm before the index finger, on my left wrist, right wrist, left ankle, right upper outer thigh, and back of my right knee on the edge. Of course, not at this age. Somewhere around when I completely stop growing).
• Do well in school.
• NOT get a therapist.
• Get Amoeba. :)
• Start 7BZ.
• Not be so selfish with my wishlist.
• Get a job.
• Go to Bamboozle 2009 and Warped Tour 2009.
• Figure out why this happened if everything happens for a reason.
• For ~~that certain person~~ someone to love me/fall for me.

How to go from this: to this:

Start off with your base, which in this case would be this large, stock image.

Crop, resize, do whatever you like. I resized, but I didn't yet crop it.

1) SELECTIVE COLOR
reds
cyan: -100
magenta: -100
yellow: -100
black: -100
yellows
cyan: -68
magenta: -21
yellow: 100
black: 0
greens
cyan: 100
magenta: 100
yellow: 100
black: 100
cyans
cyan: 100
magenta: -34
yellow: 100
black: 100
blues
cyan: 59
magenta: 45
yellow: 100
black: -28

2) CURVES
rgb
input: 124
output: 168

3) COLOR BALANCE
midtones 21, 12, -15
shadows -45, -21, -45
preserve luminosity ON.

4) HUE/SATURATION
master 0, 24, 0

5) Fill new layer with #340505. Set to EXCLUSION @ 100% opacity.

6) Duplicate base and drag it to the top. Set to SOFT LIGHT @ 100% opacity.

7) Fill new layer with #d7dd33. Set to SOFT LIGHT @ 100% opacity.

8) Fill new layer with #719bfa. Set to SOFT LIGHT @ 100% opacity.

And you're done! Your final result should look something like this.

Start off with your base, obviously, and crop, resize, sharpen, blur, do whatever you need to so you can be satisfied with it. I didn't do anything.

1) Fill new layer with #1a0202. Set to EXCLUSION @ 100% opacity.

2) Fill new layer with #567faa. Set to SOFT LIGHT @ 80% opacity.

3) COLOR BALANCE
midtones 45, -12, 30
shadows 10, 16, 20

4) HUE/SATURATION
master 0, 10, 0

*optional* 5) COOLING FILTER; (since I cannot locate a cooling filter in Photoshop, we'll have to substitute it with whatever we can) fill new layer with #00b5ff. Set to OVERLAY @ 15% opacity.

And you're done! Final result:
